Heli Bar Review

The two connection point are push-pin style... they push in very much in the same way that t turkey timer button works... (when the turkey is done, the little pastic button pops out, but in this case you puch the button in instead of it popping out).  Sorry, thats the best way to explain it.
The shield is not held with the push pins though. The two allen bolts are held with rubber expanding fasteners. When the bolts are tightened they expand the rubber and hold the shield tight to the nose piece. You need to grab the outside lip to remove the fastener and I use a little rubber lube when installing (Son-Of-A-Gun). Very easy to take off and put on..

Gentlemen,
I'm going to install Helibars on my 2003 Busa this weekend. Any ideas how to remove the windscreen so I don't scratch it? thanks and ride safe.
I have found it's a lot easier to remove the rubber fasteners by applying a little lube and pushing them 'into' the farring with an Allen wrench instead of trying to pull them out. You must loosen them first though. Also, remove the plastic pins just behind the windshield so you can get to the rubber fasteners to grab a hold of them from the inside as your pushing them to pull them in from the outside. Clear as mud? Good.

Fellas, thank you very much for the info. I'll try to take off the windscreen following your suggestions. But, if not, I'll just be real careful and pad everything with some towels. Thanks again.

Cool, Glad you like them, and thanks for the review.

I've been eyeballing them for awhile, and now I am having some wrist issues, so they are prolly next on my list...
I'm having the same problem with the wrist i might be interested in those if it really makes that much of a difference for you guys.

On a scale of 1-10, stock being 5, I'd say it improved it to a 7.5 - 8, for me at least. The throttlemiester cruise control bar ends help more if you get carpel tunnel... you get to let go of the right bar for long periods and "shake it off". They are the #1 improvement to my bike.

By the way, I looked at my bike last night. Maybe it's just me, but I saw the push-tabs(2 of them) and I do remember that being the only thing I had to do to take my windscreen off. Maybe it's a year issue, different years, different securing mechanisims.

warbaby-- u still got a new set avaialble?[/QUOTE]

Yes, I have a couple of sets in stock.

I've been using them on my Busa for about a year. Before I put them on, my neck would get sore during long rides from "looking up" at the road. Since the HeliBars were installed, I've had no more neck soreness. It's an easier riding position. I love mine...!
