Helmet Law Thing - Part II

Hey Cisco (wait up for me!!)...am I to understand it that you wear a half helmet on your Busa?

I have a half helmet that I used to enjoy wearing when I lived in the Big Smoke and I knew I was just going boulevard cruising and not on the highway for any distance.

A while ago I put it on for a country squirt on the Busa. I wanted to have my ears naked to hear the full snarl of my GP Busa motor.

I got one mile before I came back and put on my full face, because as soon as I got over 90 mph (which is ALL THE TIME for me), the half-lid started lifting off my head and the wind roar deafened me to the motor's sweet scream.

Full face with ear plugs. Peaceful speed.

And a ring side seat for the GP motor sounds!

We don't "hate" folks that don't agree. That's clear here I hope. We reserve the right to ignore or flame someone with dumb ideas but hate is not part of this. If you actually think about what all has been said, hardly anyone goes bare headed on a Busa. Some object to the laws themselves. Others favor beanie helmets but generally we all agree. I'll never join a helmet law protest because protesting a law that's an OK idea just because it's a law, wastes my time. There are other real issues that require my time.

In agree absolutely that we need to band together to protect ourselves from restrictive legistation.

I concur with Lyle. There are many more important issues we face as motorcyclists every day price gouging from the insurance industry, lack of parking in major cities, minivan drivers and a million other issues more important than fighting the man over having to wear a helmet.

Yes - it's hard to get upset at the government for perhaps saving your life. In the long run fewer motorcycle deaths could prevent potential restictive legislation that we really care about.

You are right about the legislators too Todd. It is only a matter of time before the retards save us from bikes like the Busa and the ZX-12. I am just waiting for the first "expose" to appear on the major networks about the new death machines. Look at the city sponsored lawsuits against the gun industry for manufacturing unsafe guns?!?!?! Hopefully common sense will keep things in perspective.
