Helmet review

Scorpion is hard to beat for the price range in my opinion.

Shoei here, couple of 900's and 1000. Fit is important and for me, since i have pudgy cheeks

, the smaller cheek pads make the difference. I think this year's 1000 allows the liner to come out so it can be washed.

As for wind noise, get your wife a bike and a Chatter box and she will sing to you and the wind will be gone.

Have a Shoei rf1000 and Suomy spec-1r.
Suomy is lighter, a bit louder, seems to flow a little more air, and shield doesn't fog. Stay away from the Iridium shield and you'll be fine.

With the exception of the easy fogging, I still like the rf-1000 better.

As an aside, my daughter has an HJC. We use an autocom to talk and her helmet mic doesn't activate at the speeds mine does even when I use a chin skirt. I guess that means the HJC is quieter with wind noise.

I have a shoei which I love but it's to dam hot for me here in Miami Fl. Ordered a GMAX for the xtra ventilation haven't tried @ speeds, but everyone told me its noise y.

Anyone have a Scorpion Exo-1000? Most of the reviews say the helmet is perfect except for the cheek pump thing being useless and the weight.

shoei here and nothing else. i say that because it is a good helmet and it fits me the best

fit. then look for a quality helmet with a removable/WASHABLE liner. then a light weight one. one that breaths/vents. earplugs optional.

Shoei X-11, Arai rx-7 corsair, both over $400, but close if you shop around for a sale on SOLID COLORS.

Scorpion exo 700, but heavy, under $400.

HJC carbon.

good luck

Started with a Shoei but not long after I bought my first Arai. Since then it's been Arai (current one is a RX-7 solid black/with dark smoke shield) and nothing but... although the new OGK FF-5 has seriously piqued my attention.
