(BigGeorge @ Feb. 12 2007,18:53) Thanks Greg! Super nice walk-thru and photos and God knows I love kudos! I aprpeciate you taking the time to let everyone know about the product and your personal opinion.

I had completely forgotten about that rubber grommet on the low beam HID bulb. I will make sure to remove it before shipping any sets in the future so that the install is easier.

One thing I want to add to everyone:
In order to install this high and low beam kit you do not need to remove your nose. Greg had a previous HID kit in his low beam so removing the nose made it easier for him to access everything that was previously there. And he needed to trim his wires from the old low beam wires after uninstalling his old HID setup - this is something that you don't have to do if you have a factory setup.

Thanks again, Greg!!! Loved the video too

Good point George, this could have been done like replacing a blown bulb.

(BlueHaya @ Feb. 12 2007,18:59) You did not have to secure the ballasts with anything?
The ballasts fit snugly between the ram air duct and the inner fenders.

After assembling it, I rode and took the panels off and there was no movement.

Greg - this has pushed me much closer to getting the kit - Big G and I had a couple of PMs about it a few weeks ago... do the ballasts get warm at all?

Also, do you think they would fit up closer to the nose than the frame?

Originally I had my ballast in the nose with no problem.

I handled them with bare hands after my test and didn't notice any unusual heat.

I will monitor that more and report out any changes. (but it is cold here so don't hold yer breath

I will add that the flap above the fender in the bottom of the nose is NOT a good place to put it.

(heavybusa @ Feb. 12 2007,18:25) and I had not started the bike it was a little tough to get started, but after warming up these lights worked great.

They are much brighter and clearer than my old set and less boxes and wires.

A silverstar has nothing on an HID high beam.
A couple a Questions?

You went to the 8000k correct?
What did you have before?
How much night riding do you do?
Just looking for how the 8000k's perform at night.......... ( I ride to work and its dark out in the morning!!!)

great. just great. thanks Heavybusa, fo' BLINDIN my azz with that vid- and thanks BigG, for making me spend more $ on this d@*m bike!

that kit looks aaahh-sum (thats my best East-coast accent) Greg, with as much night riding as I do in the summer, this kit is a no-brainer...which is good, cuz I dont have a brain

Thanks BG --- just wondering what the ideal  kit is   6000/ 8000/9000 -- isn't 6000 the best ??
Is the 8000 so bright that you are not that visible in the daylight?? Thanks. Found the answer on a diff thread

I got HIDs installed on mine and let me tell you... Best single modification you can make. You will have 3times the light out in front of you and 3times safer cuz you will be seen. The high-beam is blindingly bright though.... you'll see what 'm talking about...

Buy this now..... Looks great n keeps you safe !

I used the 2 way tape to hold my ballast in where heavy mounted his on top of the air duct

Hey nice write up. curious, when you take the nose off the bike for other than HID stuff how are you seperating the nose from the ballasts? Are you unplugging the bulbs each time? if so just keep an eye on those skotch locks they tend to seperate at the insulation causing a short. FYI
