And how would your parents feel had your teacher pushed herself on you, or threatened grades if you denied her? How would you feel had it been your son? Inquiring minds...

It is doubtful that a young man aged 16 would need to be "coerced" this way or any way by an attractive female teacher. At that age a guy is looking for any way to initiate intimacy and would likely welcome the advances of the lady.

This scenario mentioned above such as grades in exchange for sex, in my opinion, is unrealistic and would maybe be done by a really unscrupulous male teacher looking to throw away his career.

I disagree...I am sure there are 16 year old kids that would NOT want this kind of advancement and if their grades were thrown in the mix as some sort of threat, it's not a situation you would want your own child in. You don't think things like this happen? Think it would be just about sex? How about getting high, buying 'em booze and getting 'em drunk? I guess you don't think adults rape kids threatening to kill their parents either. The root of the problem is a sick pervert in the mix, an adult that doesn't care about boundaries, a teacher, a priest, a camp counselor. A pedophile is a pedophile, man or woman, they pray on kids and yes, at times they abuse their position in that child's life to get things they shouldn't even want.

Time for the typical guy syndrome to take a back seat here, stop thinking life is a Van Halen video. In the real world, kids are victims to corruption and sick adults every day, in schools, churches, the neighbors' home...

I was pointing out that I'm seeing the same guys cry "foul" and "double-standard" on here are also the ones that think this would have been cool had it happened to them...how do you justify griping on the one hand, then condoning it on the other? Not necessarily YOU, but guys in general?

As for the double standard, it's cultural, and even the 1960's and women's lib has not wiped that out. Boys/Men are supposed to go after anything that moves, whereas Girls/Women are supposed to be chaste and pure. A man who has sex with many women thinks of himself as a stud, he's proud of his prowess. But a woman who sleep around a lot wants to hide it, and she will wear white on her wedding day. A father finds out his 17 year old daughter is no longer a virgin and he's none too happy about it. A father finds out his 17 year old son is a virgin and he starts to worry the boy is gay. Heck, in some cultures, the father takes the boy to a whorehouse just to be sure.

I agree with that assessment AJAY, however things have changed so much, it's no longer the Leave It To Beaver mentality that thrives in this country, and illegal is illegal is illegal. I'm frustrated that men seem to hate the double-standard (how a male teacher would be looked down upon, but a female teacher would be cool), yet they're condoning it, even in this thread.

Seriously, men & women that seek younger mates most likely have a sickness that causes them to seek younger people in order to have more control or influence over them. Once they establishe that they can't do that within their own age group, then they seek younger people, including kids, as they assume that they would be easy prey.

If it were my kid seriously, i would not want them caught in a dangerous game like that. There was a case where a husband killed his wife's teenage lover, so all the high-fiving from dad would be a moot point in that case.

End of the day, a predator is a predator. I have just always found it ironic that people like this lady, celebrities like R. Kelly, and whomever else find joy in seeking these kids, when they could easily go out & get their rocks off with someone of age.

I'm saying it's not beyond the normal scope of a sick pedophile to threaten even a 16-year old in to something they don't really want to do...PEDOPHILE Projekt...I'm sure there are even beautiful women that seek boys; they are pedophiles, period. A 16 year old with raging hormones can still be a victim...I guess you and I disagree on this point, so it's pointless to argue over it.

Naw, they're just indulging their fantasies. And at my age, the teacher that started this thread could easily be my daughter. Oh, I am an evil old man.

Let's not take this all too seriously. The accepted law of the land is taking the appropriate action and I doubt anybody here would honestly disagree with the police being employed in this particular case. I apologize to any and all if I have inflamed the discussion.
