How difficult is Busa maintenance?

If I had all the parts I needed, is mainting a busa particularly difficult? The most I've done to a motorcycle was when I came across a 250 cc Honda from the early 80's with a friend. The lucky ####### found it first on craigslist for free and won't give it to me even though he never rides it because of his parents. He wants me to pay 300 for it. Anyway back to the topic, the first place he brought it was my house, and it wasn't running. I took apart the carb (it was a junk bike so I just went by gut) and put it in cleaning solution. After putting it back together she ran fine. So, would there be anything much more difficult than that involved.

Edit: He says he'll sell me the honda 250cc for 300 bucks. I think it's totally not worth it considering it's condition, and god knows if it will pass inspection. What do you guys think?

The Busa itself isn't particulary hard to work on, as far as the newer fuel injected bikes go. But the plastic is a real pain to deal with......and it won't be near as easy as that 250 was to work on. The upside is Busa's are very reliable...unless your modding you won't have to do much to it.................except ride

+1. This is all the maintenance that my 05 has required in 11,500 miles.

1) Keep the chain clean and lubed and adjusted.
2) Replace the tires.
3) Change the oil.

The brakes will need to be done this year.
I've taken alot of the bike apart for mods, but no troubles.

Dude I changed my plugs at 8,000 and it was a WASTE. They looked brand freaking new. If it calls for replacement I say pull them out and inspect them and IF they need replaced have a set ready. If they look clean and don't have any hot spots or corossion on them and the the tips look good then just wait till your next service and check them again. Thats my .02

OOPS. You are correct. New plugs at 8K. Forgot about them.

I do believe if I got it, and know myself, it would have a turbo in it pretty quick. After that I'd try and twin turbo it:):) Big bore kit sounds like a necessity. I can't wait till I finally get this bike. I think I'd swear to myself I wouldn't do anything till at least 6 months of constant riding, but then I would just give in.

Oh yeah, a 15" subwoofer and I'm all set.

Only other thing you need on it would be an ICEE machine
