How does the Hayabusa really handle

ok now I am bummed, I went ot my local Suzuki dealer to get my Busa and they are sold out.  So we preceded to call around to other stores and we could not find one, so now the dealer is going to call all over to see if he can find me one, alot of dealers here in California are saying they won't see one until the 2005's come out, and frankly I want my Busa now, I have waited long enough.  So the saga continues, will PsychoZ get his Busa this month or in a few months, only time will tell.  And I only wnat new, I know I could save money on used but no more used for me.
Check ebay bro and as for handling... I'll get back at you on a little discussion I had recently /c a few of the local riders (all 600s) about curves. They seem to think the Busa is a "Bus" in the turns. I simply stated let's ride and see if you guys run away from me. I also told them you better stay away from the straight aways because I'm going to blow your fairings off LOL. Anyway I'm a big guy 275lbs and I can counter steer my baby on a dime. Good to get the advice from those that actually own one! Now I'm not saying I'm going to be at the Gap in 600's rear tire, but I have 2 guys I ride with occasionally who have witnessed a very skilled rider on a Busa in the curves against a gixxer1000 & another one riding with a 929 and they could not shake the Busa in the turns. So again we come to the "rider vs rider" speech. Good luck finding a Busa man I feel your pain. I'd try ebay & cycletrader.com, but beware of scams.

PschoZ, Call Orange County Suzuki in Coasta Mesa asap. (949 ?) I was there Saturday and they had a 2003 hold over Silver gray Busa. Ask for Debbie Anderson, she'll treat you right. ps, I picked up the same bike last Saturday.7/10/04. Take care.

I might still have a line on a Sweet 02 SE (ALL BLACK) with a lot of GOOD modifications and 5K miles... $8500... I can vouch for the condition. Might be a good buy, besides you can fly to Tampa, Pick it up, and ride that bad boy home. What better way to bond with your New Busa?

Just a thought.

thanks everyone but I am holding out for a 2004, if I have to wait for a 2005 then I guess I will, I still have my Harley to ride, so hopefully my dealer can find me one. My heart is really set on a black/purple one.

psychoz, I need to correct my post here. Our group, the one mentioned above, picked a very tightly cornered ride on Sun. PM....the little bikes smoked my ass. There are not too many places where this will happen, but when it gets real tight, the busa's weight is very apparent....plus, for some reason (full moon??) everyone was raging, speeds were 10 to 15 mph higher than usual... this is where the 6's & 7's with a good rider shine....just the way it is....I can tell you one thing, the busa's going on a stacker 2 weight loss program....

good news, I found a Busa in my 2nd choice of colors, which was actually my first choice in reality, its a 2003 limited edition in that awesome copper color, I'm gonna go look at it tonight, so hopefully I will no longer be a poser, I will be a Busa owner, another bird of prey on the road

right on - great post - I'm waiting to see what happens !!

I hope you got the 2003 LE from Goodtimes today.  Did not see it when I was in there today.  If you didn't talk to Michael Dickenson there, he's a Busa owner and able to get them form other dealers.  I had a very good buying experience there.  Good luck!  Your going to love it!

I like the twisty stuff and the busa will keep up with most bikes, but if your going out with group of true sports bikes it will be difficult to stay with them in the corners. I find the busa comes in hot, something that can be corrected, check out Brock Davidsons web site for some pointers. The weight of the busa is something you will notice in the slow corners but love the stability at high speeds. Good thing is the busa can always reel them back in on the straight-away.

So are there any accessories I should really think about getting,  But if there are any other nice little touches please let me know.
CHICKS!! Your gonna need chicks lots and lots of chicks. I recommend heading out to the club round 12 ish and just parking outside. They usually come to u and if u got game they wont cost a thing

well if I get my check in time, which should be any stinkin day now, I will get the limited busa, it is a sweet ride for sure, and that little plaque on the triple tree commerating the 40th anniversary is a nice touch. even the little wife likes it, especially when she saw the size difference in the back seat compared to the SV1000S I was originally going to get. So the saga continues, I am hoping to put some money down on it today just to hold it til my money comes in. And Maddog if I get it we need to hook up and put some serious time in, I am thinking first trip would be to Tahoe.

If it has been sold before you get your check, you still might have a chance with Aleks powersports.

Aleks powersports is a great business to deal, just contact Mark (mnager) and tell him Ty from Ohio sent you..

Mark called  today to see how I was doing, also he told me they still have a black and grey 03 Busa that they had just uncrated today 7/20/04.

If your trying to find a deal on a bike, and great customer srv lQQk no further .

Good luck[/QUOTE]

only problem with Alek's is there are not in California, California has different standards on there bikes, so I can not register a bike from out of state. Atleast that is what a dealer in Ohio told me.

Sounds good. Hang in there same thing happened to me. Had six different bikes to chose from, including the red 04, when I started looking. They all sold in a week after sitting there for a month and a half. PM me when you get it and we will go for a ride. You may want to take some time to get used to it. I needed to! Going from a Sportster to the Busa is a shock. Only took me a few minutes to say "what the @!#$ did I get myself into." Now I love it!

That is only partially true. If the bike was first registered in another state it can be registered in California. That is the part that they don't tell you.

ok dig this, I can not find a new busa so I am looking at used, I have found a 2002 with 2300 miles on it, the owner owns alot of bikes and takes very good care of his stuff. my question is this, are there any problems with the 2002, or is it a good bike. the price is $8400 it has the RTE and a Lamar lip. give me some feedback, what do you all think

Darn it... what happened in the end ?? Did PsychoZ get his 'busa ? I've just read the entire thread and then it died out without a resolution.... like someone stole the last chapter out of your thriller novel.... !!
