How fast can you get the busa?

We have open long straight roads for top end runs. RED line in 5th with the needle pinned at 300 then kick it into 6th and it keeps on hauling. 10700rpm at 6000 feet altitude and it simply will not go any faster. Running a full yoshi with BMC filter.
When the needle hits the red line in 5th gear, i'm driving +/- 304 km/h, then i put him in his 6th and he keeps on going i stopt at 315 km/h.

I'm waiting for my locale shop to put him on the dyno.

1 km = 0.6214 mph

I hit at least 170 last year on mine. The last time i looked at the speedo it coming up to 170, and i stayed in for a few more seconds before i shut it down. The wind was VIOLENT! to put it mildly. The bike itself was pretty smooth but the sleeves of my jacket were flapping so hard it nearly pulled my arms off the bars. I haven't gone that fast since and don't really want. 0 to 150 MPH in 10 seconds or so ........is plenty for me.

People have the WRONG IDEA about HIGH SPEEDS!
One is making a machine able to reach HIGH SPEEDS and the other is the ablity to withstand  HIGH SPEEDS on the machine.
People have NO idea how VIOLENT the forces are around a human doing 200mph.
They think it is like a ride at the "County Fair". Oh how WRONG they are! It's more like your in a "Night Mare" and your doing everything to hang on for your life!

No it is really not that bad at 200mph and above if you position yoursaelf under the shield. Grant you you will not be making any turns and it is more intence then under the 200mph speed. Calm day with the sun out and it is a rush. Heavy winds and damp roads don't even thing about it. Also tires tires tires.

No kidding, at 180 I thought the wind was going to remove my helmet. I like the twisty stuff more than high speed, it makes you a better rider too.
You need to duc under that screen

I find this all really strange, I've done 195 mph on a stock busa and i didn't use all the busa power.

A stock busa in Europe drives around 200 mph and these are the numbers from Suzuki!

What is so different between my busa and a US busa?

The strange part is that you would have been doing about 180mph in actual is the speedo was reading 195mph. 184mph top with out a speed de-restrictor.

Good run and fun, but based on speed error you would have been doing about 157mph, which is plenty of speed.

Sorry have to do it..
To Reach top speed, find a empty Road about 5 miles long. Turn the black thingy On the Righthandle bar as far down and towards you that it I go in 6th gear.  Make sure you checked the tires closely a nail can sling out at 150 then the tire will deflate quickly. You won't know it's flat until the speed drops to about 100 clamp your butt to the seat and hang on for dear life until you can safely stop . I only ran mine up to 150 because I felt I wanted to go there one time. But, Now I am saying 170 would be sweet.. the Bike felt great at that speed so I don't mind going 20 mph faster..The 200 Mph Club sounds sexy, But I am too old for that much..wingwang.. Ride safe wear your Gear. !
Finally someone got my point

When i did the 15-40 gear change my speedo was way off. The factory was about 7-8% off. The gear change i made was another 14-15% for a total of close to 25%. I fixed it by making a new sensor for the speedo pickup. My new sensor is about 3-4% UNDER what the actual speed is. (Screw spending 100+ dollars on a speedo healer, my modified sensor cost about .50 cents to make and has worked great for about a year now) So........170 on the speedo was prolly closer 176-178 MPH

The few times I've top'd 170+ mph I can assure you, the busa is no east task to throw around at that point.
being in california, it's hard to even fathom the idea of gettin up that fast and having clear space to do it in.

ps I've hit 185 before I caught up to traffic a few miles ahead of me... Funny how fast they reel in when your moving 3 times faster then they are.

Nice to see I'm not the only one that finds doing 160+ a tad "overwhelming". I myself got up to 175...once in the 2 years I've owned my baby. I can relate BrutalBusa post 100%!!! Max I'll do nowadays is 140-160...

It's really "humbling" though knowing I havent seen anything the busa can do....hell I've never even redlined her

If you change the sprockets (gear ratio) you could get over 200mph, it may take slightly longer to get there but you can do it.

I was able to hit the govenor...it was a rush..but it was only for a second or 2. havent hit it again.
I hit the governor as well, but only once, does that mean I was doing 186? I did not look down at the speedo as it was pretty windy with the stock screen and I wanted to keep my eyes on the road....snakes, lizards, rabbits, coyotes, and javalinas are all road hazards out here......

Sounds just like something an x harley rider would say.

it's gotta be a troll/harley rider or a n00b. Anything above 150mph is scary fast. I mean you blow by highway exits like them white lane divider lines at 190mph with the bike wailing like a crazy banshee.

Advice! Do not wear the helmet when you want to hit top speed. It is much easier to hold you head against the wind (less area). I never wear a helmet (thanks Florida), just sunglasses and I'm trying to hit top speed every time when I'm on the hiway. Usualy after 175 mph FI lamp comes on (i do not know why) so I can't go any faster but I can't live without this feeling so I'm doing this again and again (in case of crash a helmet not going to save you anyway).

Where do we find these morons?

1. You'll learn to live w/out feeling before too long.

2. Famous last words.

Oh, Jesus why does this guy have to live in my state?

Don't worry. He won't be living in our state much longer.

I bet you go barefooted too,so the wind can breeze between your toes
