How fast can you get the busa?

(tosha.3 @ Sep. 08 2006,22:08) Advice! Do not wear the helmet when you want to hit top speed. It is much easier to hold you head against the wind (less area). I never wear a helmet (thanks Florida), just sunglasses and I'm trying to hit top speed every time when I'm on the hiway. Usualy after 175 mph FI lamp comes on (i do not know why)  so I can't go any faster but I can't live without this feeling so I'm doing this again and again (in case of crash a helmet not going to save you anyway).
I bet you go barefooted too,so the wind can breeze between your toes
you absolutely right

(tosha.3 @ Sep. 09 2006,10:21) what do you think your helmet can do for you in a case of crash on speed 175+?
BTW I'm from Russia
This poor guy was wearing helmet and all this sh***t. SO WHAT?

(IllBusa @ May 19 2006,15:54) Nice to see I'm not the only one that finds doing 160+ a tad "overwhelming". I myself got up to 175...once in the 2 years I've owned my baby. I can relate BrutalBusa post 100%!!! Max I'll do nowadays is 140-160...

It's really "humbling" though knowing I havent seen anything the busa can do....hell I've never even redlined her

Glad to see I am not the only one that does not use all the power the Busa can give. I took mine to 130mph once and that was good for me.

It is nice to know that it can always do more if I ever wanted.

I believe self control is the key when owning a Busa.

So what if something happens when he hits 30mph, 40mph, or 60mph? He'd have to hit those speeds before he reaches 185mph wouldn't he?.

People die in car accidents even though they are wearing seatbelts. But the fact of the matter is, it will save the life of the majority of those who wear them ... as will a helmet. Rider to rider, please never advise another to not wear a helmet. If you don't do it, that's on you ... but to suggest to another to not do it is ... well ... pretty fuggin' stupid! That's almost on the level of suggesting someone remove the majority of the nuts and bolts on their bike in order to lighten it.

(--StageRulz @ April 15 2006,13:50) People have the WRONG IDEA about HIGH SPEEDS!
One is making a machine able to reach HIGH SPEEDS and the other is the ablity to withstand  HIGH SPEEDS on the machine.
People have NO idea how VIOLENT the forces are around a human doing 200mph.
They think it is like a ride at the "County Fair". Oh how WRONG they are! It's more like your in a "Night Mare" and your doing everything to hang on for your life!
tounge.gif
No kidding, at 180 I thought the wind was going to remove my helmet. I like the twisty stuff more than high speed, it makes you a better rider too.
+1. The first couple of months, all I wanted to do is see how fast it would go in a straight line. Now all I want to do it backroads and twisties. My riding has gotten so much better since last year. I learned enough now to know that I my skills sux and I need to practice alot more.

I just want to tell-not all riders know the fakt that helmet manufacturers give a warranty that your head will be safe on speed NOT MORE THEN 27 KM/H (15 MPH). After that nobody give a penny for your life. And we are tallking about big speed in this topic, not about 30-40 mph. I did not adviced not to wear a helmet on regular basis I just said it is easy to hold your head against wind on big speed.
P.S. this picture is real.

15mph 'eh? I'll address that in a minute.

But he has to hit 40mph before he hits 185+mph, doesn't he? My question was what if something goes wrong at the lower speeds.

well how often do you ride at 15mph? Going by your manner of thinking since our heads aren't warrantied for speeds over 15mph, why wear them at all?

Bottom line, helmets save lives! Maybe not at 185mph+ but they do at lower speeds. If something happens at those lower speeds, he'd be thankful he wore one.

There's a reason why every motorcycle racer hits the track with a helmet on. And those guys travel at speeds waaay above 15mph.

I belive a reason is-they not allowed to go to racetreck without a helmet

Gee ... I wonder why ...

Took mine to the peg at 9800 and shut it down. No problems. Smooth all the way. Didn't need a lot of room either. Would like to know what happened when the limiter hits.

I think the greatest thing is the excelleratrion of the Busa. I have had it above 180 probably a dozen times or so. But I have yet to max her out. Really noisy even behind the double bubble, but it is not as chaotic as I thought it would be. But those picture sure do bring home reality. At that speed the best safety gear will not help much.

Rustman from TMH site I beleive crashed at Maxton last yr at around 200 mph and got pretty banged up.
eek2.gif
My top speed in Aug this yr was 180 indicated-ran out of road-HOLY CRAP was it violent with stocksheild. Purchased the ZG. OH YEA. Less violent. Is it true that its faster without the hump and grab bar and only the rear seat on? --see me--

Brethren, and Sistren,

No helmet ?.......yah right. No gear ?...yah right. On a Busa ?....yah right.

180 here, no violence, but it was a calm day. No traffic either direction, not one to scare "anyone". Elbows to knees and in, helmet in the windscreen and down, butt back. Collectively trying to be a part of the machine at that speed. Perectly smooth, no wiggle no anything, just composed and at speed. "SYNERGY".

Good stuff. Not one to do stuff like that very often....who needs to

. I love this machine at freeway speeds, let alone triple digits.....
