Alright, I want to know how many people have taken their bike to the ABSOLUTE limit of speed. I'm talking full throttle in 6th gear, wide open and truckin
 
ran it to the max on a few occasions. nothing like a 190 mile an hour wind blowing thru your jacket.

you know running at 100 mph is just to easy and it doesn't feel like your even doing 50.
 
About 165 indicated so i checked in at the 150 mark. I think what scares me the most is the consequences of getting caught by the popo at that speed. Automatic loss of license -that in itself would cost me $20k-$25k a year. Not counting the legal fees, insurance, and the cost of a new bike (cause you now its gonna be embounded which equals trashed by accident, and thats if you if you are able to get it back)

So until i hit the lotto I'll have to be content to traveling Sub-warp speed till i can get it dropped and ready for the dragstrip
 
160ish indicated.... can't seem to find an open, clear, flat strait to really open it fully. that and the Jonny Law thang keeps me off it a little. Isn't it 'No Speed Limits' in Montana or some such planet?
 
I did about 190+ racing someone who thought they were fast. 11doh.gif He was driving a twin-turbo RX-7. It was about 2am on a Sunday night, Monday morning just left my girls house on my way home muscle.gif . I was already in 6th gear cruising about 80 and I didn't even down-shift, he never had a chance. pissed.gif Next thing I know he was about 10 car lengths back and started to let up on the throttle and glanced down, the needle was passing 185. jump9.gif

plenty of 10 mile empty straight streches up here to ride.
I have held it wide open for well over 90 seconds.
And I never once looked down at the speedo.
But it sure seemed fast to me!
 
I live in North Dakota (yeah, it's not the greatest place to ride) and I topped out my '01 with the limiter. I've since taken it off, but I haven't tried for more since the speedo won't tell me anything I haven't seen yet. I'm not sure my neck can take more than that anyways 11doh.gif
 
At the sort of speeds we are all talking about in the firedevil.gif UK its an automatic driving ban at speeds over 100mph and prison at 150mph +. So the idea is not to get caught!!!!
 
I bought mine a 3 weeks ago, got married and went on honeymoon (without the bike). So I haven't had much time to ride. I was told not to pass the 5500rpm for the first 800kms which I completed recently. Now I can go as fast as 8000rpms (for another 800kms)... In 6th gear, that is about 240kms/h. You know the bike (it is stock!) so you know how fast that is in miles...
