How to watch the 2023 Isle of Man TT races this year

Racing out in the countryside must be thrilling but thru the city streets at speed? What a rush that has to be. And the jumps, one or two with just one wheel up and then one with two wheels up! Actually flying!
on the broadcast I really like when they tradition from the urban part to the mountain section. You can really see them stretching the bikes legs then.
But really the whole time they are fricking full throttle! If you listen they are redline they whole time. Those dudes are just plain different. Joey could ride any MotoGp circuit. Marquez would be ten minutes behind Joey on a TT lap.

So much trust involved there! Literally putting your life in the hands of your tire guy, suspension guy, engine guy, Course workers, etc. just doesn't compute for me! Closed course racing has runoff areas, perfect pavement, air fences etc. Here you get stone fences, jumps and concrete curbs! Truly a spectacle!

That's insane! How slow :D were the 3 guys that he caught and/or passed going? And the dudes standing in the middle of the street directing/blocking traffic. That feels like one of those who drew the short straw moments. Just crazy fast!

If you watch much of it you’ll see that for many of the riders the tire guy, suspension guy and engine is one and the same them. Even the big names like Dunlop and Hickey are uniquely familiar with EVERY nut and bolt on their bikes. I doubt there’s a MotoGp rider as familiar with his bike as most of these guys are with theirs.

I've been over to IOM 4 times and going again this July. Just to ride this circuit in open traffic is an amazing experience. Alot of signage remains up around the circuit and the red and white kerbing. Getting onto the mountain section with no speed limit is exhilarating.
There is so much history to the place, both happy and sad.
As everyone has said, these racers are built in a different way to 99.9% of others.
There really is no room for error.

I'm honestly surprised that in this day and age of bubble wrap and butterfly kisses that the race is still allowed to happen.

That’s because the IOM doesn’t GAF about sissy feelings or worries. If you’re so bold then step up. If not shut up. And I as well as many others are still super happy with that.
It’s dangerous. They know it. They still want to do it. So let em. My butt puckers just watching the Davey Todd video above. It’s super fast to us and of course it is but his mind has slowed down to process everything and milliseconds seem like minutes when on it.

I hear you, I like watching it myself.....however I'm surprised manufacturers and sponsors as well as all the other entities involve haven't caved and said we can't do it anymore for whatever reason.....

Wouldn't like to happen but surprised it hasn't....

And long may it last

Wellll there was a kerfluffle last year with the insurance companies on the island and the TT almost did not happen. I think the NW200 actually was cancelled for same reason?

As long as the IOM TT still runs each year, there is still hope for humanity and this extreme sport!
no butterfly kisses or bubble wrap for these guys lol . . .

I was just reading that Dunlop has qualified both an R6 and a Triumph 675 for Supersport. He will apparently make his choice later on of which one to race in the SS race.

Big bike times came down a bit today, Hickey turned a 134.638 mph lap on his Superstock bike with Dunlop and Harrison not far behind.

Dunlop did it. Just won the SS race, ties his uncle for most all time wins.

Bit of a Drama filled Superbike race today. Hickman winning his 14th TT to tie him with Mike Hailwood! But that was just the result, the Drama was created when Dunlop had to pull over after a pit stop to re-attach his shield on his helmet, costing him the lead. He wound up 4th regardless, but must have been a tough pill to swallow.

This is a Spanish site but its a good write up of the action.
