You've posted 6 times since January, so if you were banned I don't think it would bother you very much.

People need to learn the difference between "you're" and "your".

Yes I know that it's a fact that if you wear full protective gear you are.... well.... more protected. That's obvious. As I've said, I'll always wear a helmet but I won't always wear a jacket and riding pants.

Did you bring home the bike today? If you haven't, Im thinking the wait is almost driving you crazy.

.... burnouts are a must at the dragstrip other than that just a waste of a tire.....
Not sure that I agree about burn-outs being a must at the strip on a street tire.  In a drag or race tire the compound is designed to get more sticky as it heats up.  On a street tire (cars anyway) the tire will actually get less sticky if you heat it up like that.  In a car, (475whp 2003 Cobra, w/street tires on it) I would by pass the water, spin the tires over a couple of times just to get the dirt and dust off them.  With the Drag Radials no doubt light 'em up and let 'em smoke.

JMHO

Don

BTW - That car ran sub-12s 1/4s before a nice lady totaled it for me 2 weeks after I paid it off.
Just thought it was assumed that it was not a street tire.... I do still do a rolling burnout to knock off dust, pebbles, etc... though with a street tire... has this guy got his bike yet?

As a Busa owner and an SV1000 owner, I frequent both this board as well as svrider.com. I think you'll find a little more tolerance for basic questions on the SV board. The SV site is a good resource for newer riders or those who've been away from riding for a while, since most riders fitting this profile aren't on Hayabusas. Just a thought...

That is a nice burnout

My guess is this guy has never owned his own bike. I think he got on here - read how beginners are discouraged, and said what he felt he had to say to draw out the info he needed.
That's okay, because we've probably all done it at one time or another.
I don't understand him drawing negative attention to himself by arguing the gear issue. It's obvious how everyone on here feels.

My advice to you my friend would be to take it very slow. If you have people that depend on you - think about them.
Its all fun-n-games until it isn't.
This is no bike for a novice with a Superman cape.

Good luck!

Yeah, it's driving me crazy! I've been off work the past 2 days and it would have been perfect! But I called and talked to the dealer again and my finance company and figured out what the delay is... the dealer is just waiting for the check to post. It should happen this week. The finance company said it should only take 24 hrs. My guess would be that the dealer was delayed in putting it in the bank for some reason. It's driving me nuts! But I'm not worried or anything because I will have the bike soon...

I'm also dying to post some photos!

Dude...that stinks.

I went into my dealer, wrote em out a Personal check, and they didn't even question letting me take the bike home or waiting for the check to clear. You would think on a Bank note they would let you out the door with your new toy.

You didn't tell them your not gonna wear gear did ya...could be making them afraid to let the bike go unitl its completely paid off---those insurance deals can be a real Biotch when the title paperwork hasn't even gone through...lol...j/k....sorta.....BUY GEAR YOUNG JEDI!

Your guess would be wrong. I've already said I used to own a Katana 600 and rode that thing every day as my primary mode of transportation. I even rode it in the rain (when i had to). I rode that bike with only a helmet in the LA area... no jacket/pants. I completely respect everyone's opinion about wearing full gear. And obviously, it's more of a gamble to ride a busa without full gear than with.

I asked about riding tips for the busa because I've never ridden a busa... simple. I asked about burnouts because I never tried to do one on my Katana and was curious... and making conversation. From what I've seen, some here are "elitists" and others are very down to earth about everything.

I bought a busa because if I'm going to finance a bike and get back into it, I wanted the bike to last... a bike that I could grow into. Plus, yeah, it looks amazing and carries this aura with it being the best bike on the market. I just wish I had the bike now so I could post photos and also let you guys know how my riding is coming along on it. I'm completely honest and I'll definitely tell the truth when it comes to "pucker factor" moments I'm sure to have on this beast! In the meantime, I've been examining the roads I take every day to look for bumps and potholes... because research and knowing the roads can't hurt. I've found several "danger spots" I will need to remember...

Peace

This is the NEW OWNERS FORUM so I'm asking NEW OWNER QUESTIONS.... if that makes me a "troll" in your eyes, then so be it.

But... if the mods insist on "shid".... I guess I'll say shid! Even though that's bullshid! haha!

But, yeah, I'm a troll who rides in shorts!

I plan on riding my bike every day to work and around town... and using riding pants/jacket just isn't practical. That's why I have no plans on getting pants/jacket to ride. Simple as that. I also live about 3 miles from work... not far. I'm not an idiot. I know a crash can happen right outside my driveway... it can't be predicted. I guess I'll suffer the consequences if I crash in shorts and a short sleeve shirt! You can laugh at me if I do!

I'm here to make some friends... not enemies. So how about actually posting some comment to me instead of just posting "TROLL" pictures?

You're not asking "new owner" questions, merely questions on how to become a better squid. Thereby giving the impression that you are a "Trolling Squid"

If you are gonna be that big of a squid, at least put on gear.

I do burn outs to finish off my tires just before I change them. I just hold the front brake slip the clucth and off it goes, just dont relase the the brake and besure to pull the cutch back in before the rear hooks up.

Before you decide you're sure you don't need gear, go to google images and type 'motorcycle injury'. You'll see plenty of reasons to wear gear.

I didn't buy the busa to go 180mph and do twisties with my knees scraping the pavement... just as a normal thing to ride, so I'm not going to wear gear all the time. I might buy some, though... but I wouldn't wear it all the time (just a helmet). My first busa ride WILL be tomorrow morning when I pick it up unless it's raining. I didn't go pick it up tonight because the rain/lightning.

On Saturday night, expect lots of photos and my "story" about my first experience riding a busa...

Sorry... if it makes me a trolling squid just because I'll ride 6 miles down the road to get some smokes without boots, armored pants, gloves, and a jacket, then so be it.
