I need help

I'm new in the forum. I recently bough a 2004 Busa with a Yoshi pipe and K&N filters 1500 miles on it . Pretty decent and clean. The problem that I have is that a ZX12 is kicking my ass. Every time I see this guy in military uniform, Red ZX12, I pull next to him and slowly start accelerating. The first few times nothing happened, but the other day I did the same thing the only difference this time was that he accelerated. Dude that #### pull away from me like I was standing still. If I was going around 170 I can only guess how fast that #### was going. The dude is pretty cool. I finally meet him at a garage station. Believed or not we went riding together and a few bikes were trying to race but the dude just rode, same pace, no competition, It was like I know what I have and no need to show. I was the one accelerating and racing everybody, ZX10, R1's. My question is, What can I do to get to that level?
I already order a PCIIIUSB and a full system, to broke for turbo.
Help..

I agree with Johnny...The biggest bang for the buck you can get is to swap gears...Depending on your weight -vs- the 12 rider if your close you should be spanking his a$$...Did you happen to ask what mods he has???If you did and he answered he's probably not shooting you straight...Regear let's say 16/42 and get your bike on a dyno then look that punk 12 up...

I 'm 200 pounds.
I got stock sprockets. The bike is a 2000 model.
According to him is stock gears. PC and full system. He weights about 215.

if he is running stock gears and still pulling away like that, either start searching for a bottle or get him drunk and ask about what engine mods he has

my sentiments exactly!!!

If I change the gearing 16/42 I can hang with him for a while, but what about over 180, I'm telling you that #### moves fast and hard.

If I'm not mistaken the 2000 model is unrestricted.
Now I know what they mean.

Try twisting the throttle wide open and if that doesn't do it try dropping a gear or two before you take off. If you are in the wrong gear he will pull you like you were standing still. I have had my buddie on a 04 1K do the same thing because i was in the wrong gear. Once I am in the right gear I can walk on the 1K pretty easy then at about 150 I start pulling even harder on him and he gives up.

I need to crawl before I can walk. I don't think I'm ready for that yet. Eventually I will, I hope, but for now I better stick with the basic mods so I can learn as I go.

I was going about 80 on 3rd and I punched, he look at me like OK, and suddently that thing was gone. Talk to the guy later and he was like, Dude you started this, not me. He's cool, I found out that he is a certified mechanic, and work on bikes as a hobbie (Military dude). He let me look at the bike and look stock to me, again I'm just a rookie. One thing is for sure
I found my mechanic.
