Ok guys, look at what I have in front of me here. I have a chance to buy a 2001 Honda CBR 929, clear title, two owners. I went & looked it over today, took a test ride, & took a couple pictures. The bike rides great, has new tires, new breaks & looks very sharp. Here are the details on the bike, it was Vortex Sprockets,Vortex rear sets, Devil Carbon full system high mount exhaust, new seats covers, double bubble windscreen, aftermarket grips, powder/polished wheels, new chain, & polished frame, & swing arm, never been laid down, only has light scratch on the left side from a tip over in the garage. The only know problem with the bike so he says is it needs a new shift shaft seal, has a slow leak. I know it's not a Hayabusa Turbo , but I want something I can put more miles on. My busa is more for special occasions, if you know what I mean!

The bike has 36,000, supposedly mostly highway miles, they guy wants $3,000 which is way below blue book, blue book has it listed at anywhere from $4,050 to $5,600. What do you guys think?

Looks bada$$ brother!!!! Love the color, the polish, and the pipe. Don't let yourself get hung up on the shift shaft leak or the high mileage. Those motors will go for a long, long time if taken care of and that can usually be determined by how the bike sounds right at startup and more importantly how it rides when you go down the road. If it rides smooth, has no hesitation and plenty of power the worst thing that could happen is the motor blows up in a couple thousand miles, buy a new one off of ebay out of another bike as I am sure that the motor is not in as high of demand as the 1000rr or the 954rr motor and there you go, you got yourself a bike that will go another 25,000 miles. Buy it buy it buy it is all that I can say, definately a good investment and even better being that now I will have something to ride when I come down there to visit!!!!!! You can even charge me and others to rent it when we come down to visit to get some money back!!!

Offer $2500 CASH.  Then show him the CASH in your Hand as you Offer IT.  70/30 He will take it.  I know I would.  Something about cash that just Talks to You.  Even if you end up paying the 3K he want's.  It's a Fair Deal Considering the Mileage.  At least if you Drop It or Wreck it you won't feel so Bad

looks great and you aint gotta do anything to it...only downfall are the miles but atleast youll be able to park your busa for a lil

Sounds like a real deal, but go with your gut. If you listen to the advice of others and it goes 'south', you could end up bitter about it. ...and we don't want that, now...do we...

I would say that it's a good deal, though I would want to paint the frame and swingarm black and have the wheels recoated black. I had a 954 and loved everything about that bike. If it weren't for the judge, I would still have it. Plus, the 954 bodywork is a direct bolt on if you want a more updated look. So is the 1000RR front end if you want radial brakes. The bike is a very solid bike and should have no problem getting another 30K on it with general maintence.

I would have bought it on the spot, thats a killer deal for a very nice streetbike. I had a 01 929 before my busa that I rode on the street and drag raced every weekend and I loved it. Mine had 28000 miles on it and ran just like a new one so I would not let the milage scare you off. I had mine custom painted candy blue and everything was polished (frame, forks, wheels, swingarm, subframe, ect) and it had a Mig carbon high mount on it, they run pretty good also I had mine lowered and just the pipe it went 6.50's in the 1/8th at 114mph. So BUY IT without a doubt.

3 grand i'd get it in a heart beat, i love $3000 bikes, you can put alot of miles on them & not have it bother ya, if the roads arnt quite clean you dont feel bad about riding it and getting it dirty. go for it

3000 grand and it ain't at your house yet I would jump on
that one. Great motor if well maintained. Jump on it

the 929 are pretty bullet proof that is why stunters like that bike so much you can beat the crap out of it and it still runs I say grab it up
