I\'ve got bad news for you all...

I was just looking at the ZX-11 site to see if they were talking about this and found the following post: "Re: ZX12R On Kawasaki Switzerland Site"

You can already order the ZX-12R on the Swiss Kawa site:
http://www.kawasaki.ch/SEITEN/F_bestell.htm
It says that the first 100 buyers get a video with the
story behind the development of the ZX-12R!!!"

Maybe its not vapor!

Hey Motoboy,
Bad News? If you read any of these posts, you should realize we are the ones with the big advantage. We are way ahead of the game, aftermarket, etc..... It doesn't sound like the ZX12R is going to offer any significant difference between it and the Bus. On the other hand everybody who watches these posts can make a very significant change to their bikes. Kawasaki is a buck short and a day late.

Byhalia:
I own Busa #3612, purchased on 6/8/99. Subscribe to the mailing list; you'd see that I was just searching for exhaust gaskets for my imaginary Busa. You may pull your head outta your ass and your foot from your mouth.

Vegasdude:
Nothing personal. And it was first-hand, not rumor or hearsay.

Nuff said.

No, the Ural thing is an obvious rumor, but my best buddy's cousin's ex-husband, who sleeps with the marketing director of Vespa, has seen their new 8700 cc, air-cooled radial-engined super ultra sportbike out on our local track.

This is one guy you can really believe.

Apparently it pulls 375 mph in 3rd.

It'll be in Vespa dealers' showrooms in time for the Bronx show.

Acrapovic is making an exaust system for the Vespa and Turbo Guru Erik Marklund have already made turbos for it..........
And the zx 12 is tested by an american rider.......Yeah right. But one thing is for sure: That Kawasaki is trying to beat the Hayabusa will NEVER be bad news. It just means the spiral gets another turn and then Suzuki have to make something even better. And if they don`t, Ill buy a Kawi .
Easy peasy.

I think the site is becoming more touchy-feely-sensitive. After Fitch, we don't want Motoboy to get upset and disappear...next thing we know, he re-appears as Cabinboy, working aboard a Greek Vaseline freighter or something...don't want that!

Just kidding! :)

I don't own a Bus, but if it makes you guys feel better, it's serial number #003645.
Really, how can anyone check that I'm non bullshiting?

Yes you are welcome here, please tell us more of your bad news. I have just come back from my anger management class and they suggest I share the love. (NOT!)

Take you ZX12 and ride it all the way to the big Kawpasture in the sky, graze with the awsome H1, H2, Z1, and why not the ZX11 as well. Go milk a Bull, The ZX12 site is only a keystroke away.

Say hi to "Fitch" and the rest, from me!

Do you really expect different from the
same person who offered a solution to your lack of gaskets, go and read your own posts again. I warned you of a lack of gaskets months ago.

There are bikes which are faster in the twisties than a busa, but they sure aren't big bore Kawasakis. How come the only agitators here are Kawasaki people, did you go the Honda XX sites and spew you bull there. Or only here at this site. It does not matter what you ride only that you want to ride.

There has not been any R1 or XX owners that come here with the resentment the Kawpokes bring, why?

Bring on the ZX12 it is good for all consumers, competition improves the breed.

Just sick of mystery tapes and BS, the Busa is real and here, and for the moment KING.

Be happy this isn't europe where horsepower is regulated.(learned this in class tonight)

Horsepower is not regulated in Europe...yet. But here in Holland there are some people at high positions who want a 100 HP limit.

The hp limit was 'agreed' by the manufacturers in 1978(ish) when there was outrage at the then awesome 105bhp spewed out by the 140mph CBX1000.

The move was to try and avoid all the Euro countries ganging up and banning these 'monsters'.

However, the French took the oppurtunity to legislate and set the limit at 100bhp for their bikes. They still have that limit with little sign of a let off .....

What the Germans did I don't know ....

What really matters is that here in the good old UK it's full steam ahead! Always was ... now all we have to do is avoid the 7000 digital speed cameras they're sticking up in our green and pleasant land.

Bah Humbug!

yep. That's right. There was a brief time that it was regulated in Germany but now it's optional there, although it is still regulated in France though. Everywhere else is free to hp away to their hearts content.
I know it's not in Holland. That's where my Busa came from. Thanks holland.

Has anyone seen the CBR-1600 XX. Its in a copy of one of a Sport Bike magazine. I kid you not, feel more than free to look it up. I know it's kind of lame to not quote a source but it is a published story. I bought several bike magazines at B&N and saw the article in one of them. It is a reported as a Y2K issue to combat the 'busa. Talk about overkill. I think that the story is real but the development of at 1600cc superbike? Man I hope the writer was rxng misinformation. The development of a 1300cc is outrageous, though I love my 'busa. But to come out with a bigger bike just because? Sounds like a repeat of the nuclear arms race. I'll write again with the name of the magazine. I'm sorry for not having it on me this time.

Actually Buddha, there is a good article in Motorcycleworld about electromagnetic valve systems as a future technology capable of producing that kind of horsepower gain.

It is at www.motorcycleworld.co.uk/preview/features/feature.../features_future_tech_0599_2.htm on Aug. 23, 1999. If that doesn't work, just go to www.motorcycleworld.co.uk and click the features button and click around. It is called, "So you think the R1 is fast? Think again." You'll find it.

It talks about what happens when you eliminate cams, cam chains, and a lot of other moving valve train parts. It says a 1000cc motor could easily produce 250hp with a redline of 20,000 rpm. I think it is not if, it is when. Forget about V-tec.

As for a transverse V-6 sportbike motor, I've been waiting for that one since Honda came out with the CBX inline-6 monster in the late 70's. Nobody has done it yet, and there is no reason why it wouldn't stomp everything, for power and handling.

The article you quoted is probably right, Honda will probably come out with it...in about 15 years.

I see you read the article. For those looking for the specific issue about the CBR1600-XX it can be found in the Sept. '99 issue of British published "BIKE" magazine. This issue commemorates 30 years of superbike development. It feature a '69 Honda CB750 and, of course, the pinnacle of SUPERbike development the '99 Suzuki GSX-1300R (HAYABUSA) on the front cover. Looks quite stunning in RED & BLACK.

Honda is also losing the super dooper fast bike war.Not only has Suzuki's GSX1300R trounced the honda CBR1100XX through the timing lights,it is also winning the bird-named bike battle.Namby-pamby "Blackbird" versus "Hayabusa Falcon".Feathers fly,a few squaks and one butchered blackbird is meat for Hayabusa's offsring. No contest, really.

We suggest a different name for this son-of-Blackbird.Either something canine like"Rottweiler"or,continuing the bird theme, how about Honda CBR1600XX Dodo,so named because if you try to max this out on the roads you will soon become extinct...

This is what the Japanese reckon is coming from Honda in the 21st century.A CBR1600XX Ultra Blackbird built to a stunningly simple brief-it must be comfortable and fast.

Driven by a transverse-six and using Honda's VTEC technology,it should make 240bhp,according to our optimistic sources.

The problem of engine width and weight is solved by employing the aluminum power sleeves and magnesium covers,as used in the Fireblade's engine. This new Honda flagship will make riding over 200mph a piece of cake,or,as the Japanese say,'done before breakfast'.
Where will it all end?
