If there were no speed limits...

If conditions are ideal as you described, I would make every commute a fun ride. This would mean slowing down to under a 100 when there is more traffic, and bursting into triples every other time.

Oh, wait... I don't have to fantasize about it... I don't commute though - pleasure only.

moby D seems to settle in at around 105. still get 40+ mpg if i'm tucked at that speed.

Ide say 120 ish on the highway.. my Wife and I do that a lot.. or 80-90.. depends on how i feel.. If I get open space and no cars or cops well its time to open it up..

I have never, ever gone faster than posted.:rulez:

You do find places where nothing is posted though, like my driveway for instance.

If there were no speed restrictions, I would go as fast as I safely can. Were it some sections of the Autobahn in Germany, probably would be as fast as the bike could go.

I cruise sometiimes on I-75 at 100. It is a very nice speed on the BKing. Any faster and you get a pretty good wind blowing you around. So 100 it is for me.

truth is, the maximum speed any of us will be going, is the speed of that one person who goes the speed limit in the left lane...

america needs a ride right law that is enforced in the worst kind of way...

:moon:

I am continually amazed at the well-educated, bright, young professionals I work with who insist on driving only in the left lane. You'd think they were all transplanted Brits. I wonder if it's some side effect of the constant texting and tweeting that all the younger folks seem to do???

Ludicrous speed. But those 100kmh signs come up quick sadly enough. 90 to 110 MPH is a comfortable cruising speed on the short bus.

I like to cruise at around 85mph, have been known to twist a little bit more but not having a double bubble screen and an ample belly I can't get down far enough below the standard screen. Which makes the old noggin wobble about a bit too much:rofl:

Used to live about 45 minutes from work, with Interstate most of the way....One morning running late.....ran the interstate portion at 120ish. Interstate time was normally 30 minutes. that day I did it in 18. Freakin rocked ......
