Illinois Construction Zones

I also work in the road construction industry and I am tired of seeing drivers not paying attention to whats going on around them because they are to busy on there cell phones or digging through thier make up purses. We had a flagger hit by a driver not paying attention to the work zone. He said he never seen the flagger nore the all the signs 1500 feet before he hit our flagger. The flagger suffered a broken jaw and facial fractures along with other injuries. I always explain to people when the po po pull them over in our work zones how they would like it if I drove my car through thier office or factory within 2 to 4 feet from them at around 60 to 70 mph. Its not fun working out there with only an imaginary wall between you and someone driving while not paying attention. I once had a driver actually slam on his brakes and turn around and drive back to where we were working because I yelled at him to slow the hell down as he went by us @ 70+ mph in a 45 mph workzone. How stupid he was when he got back to our workzone to yell at me when the state trooper drove up and asked for his id to issue him a ticket. Just remember that the state troopers are our best friend when construction workers are out and about working in traffic. We usally call them to help slow down the traffic and they dont mind coming out and helping!
