Thats was why we did the Starved Rock thing on this side of the river. When we find out who all wants to ride, we will find a central spot. There is one county that I have no interest in riding (you should know where that is) because Doyle will probably be riding with us! Like I said before, Ive heard there is some good riding down in southern Iowa that we might have to check out.

Hey guys,
I'm new (at posting, been reading for a while) here, but i'd be down for Starved rock. I live in Cherry about 15 miles away. I also am planning on heading to my parents house on Sunday night in Grant Park just north of Kankakee, so maybe i'll follow some of you all back east. And if your comming from the east 80 is torn up where it meets 55. It can be real jammed there or it can be a non-issue most of the time. If you head south on 55 it is torn up where it passes over the river. Last weekend I sat in traffic there for 30 min. and moved 4 miles. Not good. There are lots of different ways to get around that though. I ride that just about every other weekend. But, anyway just let me know what time everyone wants to meet.

I am coming from Bourbonnais (Kankakee), what way do you think I should go to meet Wedgester in Minooka?

Come down 80 and u will be ok its before construction. We are going to take Route 6 to 71 along the river to starved rock. I already have a Map printed up for 300 so he can lead us haha. Actually it easy to get to and a nice ride. looking forward to meeting up also I havent met anyone on this board yet and weather looks great so far high 70 with some clouds.

Mopar 250 u can def follow back with us ill get u back on 80 or 55 what ever u would like. 80East will be clear all the way to Kedzie in Hazelcrest and 80 west will be clear to Minooka also.

55 south is clear at the Desplains river bridge now. North bound never saw construction at the bridge this year. Construction has been done. Still congested on 55 to 80 ramps, but not bad, just slows there.

My two-way number is 111*215460*1 just let me know who you are when I ansewer. I am at work from 3pm-11:30pm mon-fri, so I can't talk then. See you guys this weekend. -Randy

Hey guys,
What I normaly do (and this would work from Bourbonnais is go up RT. 45 until you get to Peotone/Wilmington blacktop and run that west until you get to a stop light north of Wilmington, turn north go about a mile and turn left again and that will run you threw the state park by the Kankakee river. That will bring you out to 55 at the Wilmington exit. You can go north and then get on 80. Thats alot quicker than going up 57 to 80 becuase you miss all the Joliet traffic. 55 north doesn't have any construction either. Where 55 and 80 meet you will most likely slow like wedgester said. Once this summer though I was stuck in traffic all the way back to minooka. I was in my pickup that time and about 15 guys on Harley's went by on the shoulder and I thought man, I wish I had my bike.....then about a mile later we passed all of those guys getting tickets by the state police. lucky me huh? It oughta be a good trip. I work with a guy with an 03 limited and i'll see if he can make it also. BTW my two-way is 111*45*7746 if anyone has any questions about the area or needs different directions. Utica isn't very bad to get around in, and 71 is a pretty cool road to run on.

Yeah, I know how to get there that way. I was just out there over the weekend. I usually take Rt. 102 along the river to Old Chicago road and then out to rt.53 and so on. That isn't the State park out by I55 either, it is some kind of forest preserve. The state park is by my house.

I plan on meeting some guys in Minooka shortly before 1pm and then how ever long it takes to get from there to starved rock. Does anybody know of a place that is easy to get to that we can all meet at the park?

The visitor's center has a good parking lot (see a lot of bikes there when I've been there). Here's a map of the park. The red question mark is the visitor's center.

Lover's Leap is less than a mile from the visitor's center and it's a good place to throw a body... ummm... it's a nice scenic view.

Figure it'll take about 40 minutes give or take from minooka to utica so I'll just plan on being at the rock (if'n I don't get hijacked for work) around 1:30 or a bit earlier.

I'm in for Oct 1. I'm sure I can get someone to drive the pace truck for the Nextel cup race !

300 and Mopar I have both of your Nextels ill be in touch.
I am ready! My freakin wife is talking about going with me again

! She don't even have her helmet anymore, somebody borrowed it and never brought it back. So, if she decides to come, we might be looking like some squids this ride. She said if I don't want her to go, then she will stay home by herself....that means I will be in the dog house
