I'm Almost There!

Hey all!  I have been stalking through the site for about a week now and all this Busa discourse has my mouth watering for my next bike!  I currently ride a 2003 Kawasaki ZX12R (I'm sorry).  Unfortunately, certain ill-fated occurences has led me to the requirement to purchase a new bike, and I am simply waiting for the 2006 Hayabusa model to come out.  I have not had the opportunity to test drive the Busa but I was informed that it was more comfortable than the Kawi (Corbin seats aren't even needed), and that there is no throttle lag even with the machine as stock.  Also, Suzuki's are so easy to modify!  I would have to CUT my fairing just to put on sliders!!!  My only concern is that I hear people mentioning that the handling on the Busa is poor.  My Kawi, although heavy, feels comfortable around corners for me--I am wondering if people are complaining about the Busa weight or does it really have sorry handling?  Heck!  I shouldn't even care--I live in Florida for God's sake!  All straightaway!  But still, if anyone has ridden on both bikes can ya give me a bit of input.... btw, I STILL don't know what TRE's are but I am not going to ask!

Depends on what you are comparing it to. Compared to a gsxr1000 or zx10...the busa will feel heavy and take more effort to hustle. Compared to your 12? I only have a little seat time on a 12, but my bus feels much more stable at speed, both in the curves and on the straight. And it corners GREAT! For ME, it is way more comfortable. I like the low end torque of my bike, always thought the 12 needed to spool up more.
Overall, I think the 2 are very comparable. I just think the bus makes a better all around machine.

welcome to the board. no reason to be sorry nothing wrong with the 12 r just a prefrence as far as what is a tre here ya go

Thanks for all your feedback!  I know that the Busa's are not supposed to do their bike overhaul until 2007, but I love the current body styles anyway, and I am just sitting on my temptations to wait for the 06's to come out.  Hopefully I will have a picture to post by November--saved money ready, and proud to pounce at the first light of the new models!  I also LOVE looking at all of your bike pics--those GPS hookups some of you have are truly hot.  I plan to get on of those, a nice undertail, sliders, and a Zero Gravity shield to start off with but I do not think I need to upgrade the bike's speed any.  The fastest I got my Kawi was 178mph and that was ALMOST fast enough!  It is an entirely different lifestyle at those speeds.

Hey! Are there any Dirty South Rydaz on this board? Maybe in the West Palm Area or Miami? As soon as my new bike comes in I would like to start meeting up with some people from the board if possible.
