I'm new....& Slightly disappointed

STWBusa
You won't be happy with the Busa, Go back to the Z10 and give me the Busa .:please::please:
I'll drive it like I stole it

Once you hit 5500rpm it unleashes.... at least on a Gen1

5500 is when it starts picking up, doesn't really start moving till you're in 7000 rpm though.

For the OP who thinks the Kawi feels faster... consider that the busa is faster than the s1000rr in the 1/4 mile. Your old bike isn't faster than either of these :)

P.S. Be careful when it does start to cut loose, it will powerwheelie pretty easily....and you might not see it coming....Let us know after you run it up once or twice...

Ok guys..Firsly... No I am NOT on drugs secondly my name is not Owen and thirdly.. I will try riding it harder I only just got it and I guess I was expecting it to just blow me away with its performance without me having to try hard... I guess not... I will ride it harder.. It just seems my ZX10 pulled harder.....that's all I am saying...

zx10=violent / hayabusa=smooth

yep.

A few friends have 10's we all agree that its more likely to get ya in trouble than the "Bus" as they call it. 10's are snappy as can be. Get goin around 150mph at about 8k R's and hit, thats where she will show the difference from the 10.

Ok maybe I am in the wrong place hahahahha... Get to 150 and then accelerate??? Ain't gonna happen.. Maybe I should added that I am talking comparing the 2 bikes in what to me is "real world".. i.e. sub 100 mph sprints away from lights and cruising on the freeway and then having a cager come right up my ass and twisting the throttle and leaving him looking kinda dumb... My 10 was very capable in that department and I know the Busa will do the same I am beginning to think its the OEM mufflers and the smoothness that's making it feel "slower" I am going to be getting V&H CS ones and 46 rear sprocket then I will know how this puppy can really perform

No I haven't wound it up yet......Didn't think I had too considering all the talk of torque... Undoubtedly more comfortable than the Zixxer but when you buy the "fastest" production bike in the world I guess I have high expectations for it..

Busa is not the fastest production bike, :poke:  The liter bikes have the same or more hp and less weight. What you got was a bike that gets high marks in almost every aspect/category of motorcycling. Handling/ acceleration/ and my personal favorite comfort.

How long did you say you have had it .... 1 week ?

It took me bout 3 to 4 months to learn to ride the busa right, after that nothing was coming by me including ZX 10's, even on tightish tracks.

Give it time grasshopper !

I was going to input about the greater stability at higher speeds, but looks like you got that covered~!~

The bike has lots of power that you may not have gotten into yet. Once you see what it has and still aren't happy, do some sprocket changes. I went +3 on the rear, as I'm a sub 100 rider as well, and the change gave the pep I was looking for. Bike still does 175+ indicated with a SpeedoHealer and TRE. It had more, but I didn't.

Its a used bike with 2200 miles... I think its simply a matter of pushing harder...

Be very aware, the front end will slowly start to lift toward the upper end of first gear at full throttle, and I'm not exaggerating! Mine did being all stock with my #230 on it.

My 10 would wheelie also very easily ... I am a very experienced rider..hence my choice of the Busa... As I stated before.. I was expecting to be wowed.. So far I really like the Bike just not feeling the performance merits Hypersport description over SuperBike..... My buddy is getting a Ducati Multistrada 1200S ...Going to be interesting how we do against each other...
