Insurance

I have State Farm with only 2 bikes covered in Wisconsin. No car or Home policy with them. A little over $700 a year total for both with $500 Deductable on a Harley and the Busa. The Busa is cheaper than the Harley.

I dont own a Hayabusa yet (buying one at the end of may as a birthday gift to my self)
I have checked insurance everywhere. Im 25, male, with an accident within the last 2 years... and all i have to say is call progressive.

everyone else either wouldnt insure me or it was over 5000 a year...

progressive came in at 1400 a year with 100 300 100 with 1000 deduct.
Progressive is the way to go...

Progressive told me 2500 a year. I am 32 with no accidents. Gieco was the cheapest for me at 1800 a year with a 500 deductable. and I am considered a 1st year rider.

CRAZY.. Im sure it depends on the area. Since i live in seattle, they know i wouldnt be riding it that much since we have 3 sunny days a year (and they were earlier this week)

So...I hear the big deal with State Farm Insurance is the fact that they simply run the engine cc's and not the class of the motorcycle. For me, having an EVO Harley and an 08 Busa they figure them exactly the same since both are 1340cc. That's a little crazy because my harley is over twice as heavy with half the power. State Farm is the way to go!

Keep in mind that some insurance companies base rates on your credit score as well. So, comparing one persons rate to another persons rate is a bit more complicated than just the coverage and driving history.

I have Dairy Land, Full coverage, medical, $1000 accesory, towing , "out of town"(rent car/motel), replacement(GAP) etc....
I'm 25, no endorsement. 09 Busa, just a hair over $1000 a year.

I am 27. I pay under three hundred a year full coverage. State farm is the best. They go by cc only.

State Farm

+1 - Quotes I was getting were RIDICULOUS. I'm 27 and I live in Cleveland, OH - no accicents/tickets (knock on wood). One quote actually had me paying more per year than I actually paid for my '08 Busa! Went to State Farm (off of the advice of the .org of course:bowdown:) and now i'm paying $39 a month! (full coverage $500 deductable) :cheerleader:

Hello all, I'm 28 years old. I have 8 years motorcycle experience (not including early years with smaller bikes). 2004 Hayabusa, pure production. No accidents, No tickets. The bike is a daily driver and is in a apartment parking lot. No bike lock. Phoenix Arizona. Was thinking my insurance was going to be lower. Seems kinda high to me. I was hoping some of you fellas here could maybe just give me a ball park figure on there insurance so I can see if I'm getting ripped off.

You are in AZ with a hyper-sport bike, living at an apartment. AZ is #1 in motorcycle thefts. You don't lock it with anything other than the fork lock? Do you have an alarm at least? Why would you point out that you don't lock it up? Talk to the complex manager, and get a garage unit for it.

I hope you get it sorted out, but I smell a sock puppet here. Between this post and the insurance huckster, something isn't right. If I'm wrong, I apologize.

I was with Progressive for the last 8 years. When I got my baby (blue 08 stock) my agent told me they wanted 2200 a year. I have NO tickets or crashes in any vehicle. No I didn't put an extra zero.

My agent writes for multiple companys, he did some checking and found Met was the best for me with full coverage with 500 deduct. One catch was I am under 35 (29 yoa) with a displacement larger then 1200cc. The Met said I was uninsureable. My agent went to bat for me and got them to over ride the system. now I pay 550 a year.

One catch with Met is they don't do only bikes you must have another vehicle insured with them already. But they don't give you a multi vehicle discount. When I am saving $1500 I don't care. I also I live in Idaho and vechile thefts are not that high here, but gangs :moon: are starting to move in.

Also I was told by my agent when you come from Geico or Progressive you are considered uninsured be cause they are considered "high risk" compaines. So they think I am a first year rider.

Ok this is my first post on the website, my name is Daniel and hello to everyone.
Been riding motorcycles for about 10 years now but only for a couple years in the us. Started with a Sv650S which i still have and I feel I am ready to ease In on a Busa. My first concern was insurance. I am paying 93 $$ a month for my SV full coverage, I have taken the MSF course succesfully and I consider myself a safe rider ( occasional burst notwithstanding ). I have a couple speeding tickets as well.
INSURANCE # 1:
Called Progressive last night to get a quote on a new '09 Busa for full coverage. get this....11.289 $$ per annum....the price of a new bike out the door.
After 49 minutes on the phone with the manager he still was not able to explain to me why so much. Told him to give me a quote for me 4 years from now. so 30 year old male clean driving record for the last 3 years, full coverage for a new Hayabusa....9000 $$$ per year. Not an option
INSURANCE # 2:
Dairyland is the insurance I have right now for my SV. Asked for a quote today and full coverage for a new Busa ? 4000 $$ Not an option
INSURANCE # 3:
State farm. Called my local agent and asked for a quote. Two (2) speeding tickets, full coverage on new 09 Busa....under 800 $ a year. I dont think I will call anyone else.
I live in WA state where insurance is not required by law for motorcycles but no insurance is no option for me.
So there you go...???
