Interesting video with Suzuki gen3 engineers.

The electronic tech and LED lighting on this bike wasn't developed just for this bike, it was on the GSXR1000 for years...that tech was grafted over.

The cruise control is new however but who wants cruise control on a GSXR1000 anyway.

I agree Terry, this bike should have delivered the top performance deserving of the name it carries.

2nd time I have watched that video now, and I get the feeling that the over-arching decree from the higher ups was not to screw up anything that already worked, or else! The guys standing around at the track at the end of the video sounded more like a group justification of the modifications made, rather than bragging about setting the bar, so to speak.

They continually mentioned their ten year development period and as far as the motor mods were concerned, that’s a long time to end up with a smooth retuned small block chevy instead of a big block Hemi. They also mentioned they had listened to social media as to what the owner/buyers wanted and what their mods were and yet still no Ohlins and still no more power! Ten years?

They might have heard but they sure didn't listen...

So is the general consensus that the reason for not making more power and speed is because of the euro 5 restrictions? Basically, from what I'm getting is they made updates to the bike and made the bulletproof engine even more bulletproof so that the aftermarket can do what they (suzuki)would like to do, but don't want to take the risk

I find it funny how they say they improved power in the 5-6k area. Lol I would be willing to bet that the ecu won’t let you be 100% throttle in that spot anyways. So why improve power down low when it’s restricted?

Well we'll find a way around that and all the other safety-notes. Haven't we always done that in the past ?. I wouldn't purchase a bike that doesn't WOT in all gears....
