Is a busa right for me.

Hi, I'm, riding a 600 right now, I'm a bit older late 30's I'm considering moving up to a busa as my next bike, but I wonder if it would just be a colossal waste of money for me to do that. I really have no intention of going crazy fast . I like the look the ride the feel of a sportbike, but I like to cruise on it. I do know that the bike only goes as fast you twist your wrist, but Would i really only use the first 3 gears. The fastest i normally go is maybe 85 on the interstate. I don't have my heart set on a busa. It would be a nice bike, but would it be a waste? I know i would loose the 50mpg of my 600 and realistically I'm not hurting for extra speed at 150+ is fast enough for me. I do like to ride 2 up occasionally. but thats about it.

Tell me what you guys think.

Sounds like why I moved from a 600cc to the Busa except for my primary reason which was I'm 6'4" and wanted a bike to fit my size.

Forget that pipe dream about not going fast...you will and you'll love it. The bike is not a waste, it's an upgrade. My question back to you is why are you even considering it? Sounds like you're good with what you have.

Just go for it, you will love it, you will be glad you did it.

You arent going to tour on a 600, been there done that have the shirt to prove it. Check on insurance rates before you buy, State Farm does real well for us. You say you wont go over 85 on the interstate, but the busa will do that in 1st gear. Eventually you will stretch her legs, just be smart about it. MPG? I get 41 mpg consistently, with most of my riding being 2-up.
Welcome to the board, and post up some pics when you get her home. :beerchug:

The Hayabusa is one of the most universal sport bikes in the world. It'll run 85mph in first gear or cruise very smoothly at 60 mph in 5th gear. Busa rides like a big, very fast couch. The most comfortable motorcycle I've owned. As Twotonevert stated, I get 40+ mpg regularly. You say you ride double often? Busa has the most ample passenger seat of any sport bike period. Your sig. other will love it.
And to top it all off, Hayabusa will handle a lot better than a lot of folks give them credit for. It ain't a 600, but in the right hands..
I've never regretted buying mine and I doubt you will either.

You know, that I know, you know you want to get it. Like Htom & Tworoneert I get 41 to 43 mpr + we lookk good on the busa:laugh:

well you came to the wrong place to ask that question. everyone here will tell you sure sounds liek you need one. everyone on your 600 board will tell you that it can out handle the busa. Well maybe but on that note put some of our guys that have 50k miles on thers busa and ask your 600 guys how many people have that manu miles with no problems.

your asking your question in the wrong places you ahoulsd have asked us well i am 30 i love rockets but i want to know more abou the busa i am thingking of upgrading

then you would have gotten the travelers the everyday riders, and even the fair weather riders.

Man ok long winded yes but i have an 05 with 17k miles i am 28 years old but 6'5. so alot of us are tall or bigger peopel so. but we wouldnt trade our busa for anything less.

You will move up and than you will find yourself laughing at little 600's. Really, less than half the displacement...:rofl::rofl::poke::laugh::whistle:

44 yrs old, Love the Busa, Smooth, Comfortable, I too get an average of 42 to 45 mpg but have been known to get 50mpg on really lazy days.

Then again on the particular days, ( usually more than less ) I have been known to get less when its time to rip it. and trust me. You will, Ohhhh yes you will, Just knowing that power is there is enough to make any Red Blooded American twist that throttle.

You wont regret it.

And the Mods you can do to these things are insane. :cheerleader:

I had a 1000 and was looking for something a little more comfortable. Go and sit on one and you will be sold. Put some risers on it and a gel seat and you wont even look at another 600. All the extra torque is a nice upgrade too, you wont have to wind it out in every gear to feel like you are going some where. Just do it, you will love it!

Buy it, you'll love it, all your little 600 buddies will envy you when they're down shifting to try an keep up with you.

40 years old and I love the ride. I don't do 150 either but I do enjoy the quick burst of speed occasionally. If you ride one you will never look back.

:welcome:

with the busa's size shes great for long rides and large riders and with the engine it's great to go fast... plus if you ride two up your passenger will thank you, much more room then a 600.
