Issue with my recent stator cover upgrade?

(Ruth|ess @ Jul. 24 2007,13:36) when you key the bike is there any power?
Yep, there's power...it wants to turn over, but isn't...
You have fuel in there?

Stupid me would be sitting here thinking "oh, well, I'm ummm, let me go see"  LOL

But, I did have plenty of fuel and even topped off on the last stop during my "lunch tour"...thank goodness I'm not stuck at a gas station and the bike opted to <s>break</s> rest here at work

I'm really hoping we can get the bike home tonight. I hate leaving it here at work and it's not beyond me to pull it in to my office and watch the boss's face when he sees it parked by my desk! LOL

If I get it home and have time tonight, I'll pull it apart and take pics of any damage/questionable gremlins I find...

Bummer...wish I was closer to help ya.

Just put my stator cover on last week, no issues yet.
Let us know...

Will do! I just talked to Mike, told him what the gang here is saying and that I should ride it home; he agreed so he's picking me up and my baby's going to be a trailer queen tonight *sobbing*

I don't imagine it's a flaw in the cover itself...so, Woodcrafts good in my book! I am really guessing that my loctite didn't hold something in as it should...something's come loose or the hamster died...

Pics will follow!!! Wish me luck!

Yea...I put a woodcraft cover on the other week. I thought I would go with a battery 1st since it's the orignial one.

My battery is the original too...if I hadn't heard what I heard on the way in or when I rode for lunch, I wouldn't think it was a problem with the stator...

Sounds like yours is the battery...yeah, like I know what I'm talking about

NEXT!

(omslaw @ Jul. 24 2007,15:19)
(VaBusa @ Jul. 24 2007,14:17) or the hamster died...
So *that* explains the stink

Hamster can't even be stiff yet...he's limber, I just know it...

No, that stink is definitely you...

What sounds like an exhaust leak could be the bolts backed out and tumbling around inside the cover.

(GSXcite @ Jul. 24 2007,15:55) What sounds like an exhaust leak could be the bolts backed out and tumbling around inside the cover.
And that's exactly what it sounded like...

...after talking to Tom and reading everyone's advice here, I'm just hoping I see something's loose, but nothing's screwed up because I was stupid and kept riding around...

I win the award today! Yay me!!!

Does the engine turn over at all but it sounds like it wants too? I bet one of the allens bolts that holds the stator in place came out. Remove the stator cover ASAP.
