I finally did it, took off all the decals. It was much easier than I thought! Besides the time spent removing the left over adhesive it was painless. I'm going to need some time to get used to this uncovered look but I can already see the awesomeness that a clean look gives to her beautiful curvers :inlove:

I'm planning on taking her out for the day tomorrow and I'll get some better pix but this is what I have for now.

looks like a storm trooper from star wars. Just kidding, i like it. Have thought about this on my black/orange a few times, but just not sure if i want to. I like a nice and clean look though, without a bunch of badges/decals everywhere

How difficult was installing the smoked lights?

Chrome Grill Inserts, Carbon Fiber or White painted Inners with a few well placed Chrome Mods. Chrome Wheels and she is done.

Hmmm...do you have to take apart the fairings at all?

nope, just pop off the lower chin skirt below the headlight and the black plastic fender dash panels below the bar ends and u can easily gain access to remove the turn signals

I have an '08 grey and took almost all the decals off the first week I had the bike (the adhesive comes off very easily with wd40 btw). I love the look on my colour and on black bikes, but hate it on the white...but then I hate this bike in white anyway so probably just me.

Excellent work!!!! i like it! you went a step further then me taking the kanji off.I dont like the gen2 kanji either but i am not going to remove it till i get my gold chrome one ordered.

ps....really make the slower color stand out!!!

how did u get the ones off the tank wern't they clearcoated over?
