Just Picked Up My First Busa!!! And a few questions!

Without much science, the bikes i rode lightly when new always laster longer and ran smoother. THe bikes i hammered on right of the box, never last long and problems crept up quick.

There's a difference between breaking your engine in hard, and simply thrashing it. A friend of mine told me about when he and his (cop) partner were given their new Police bikes. His partner rode it hard from day 1, while my friend followed the manufacturer's recommended break-in period. - Guess whose bike was always faster, had better pick-up and was more reliable?

When I bought my new Hilux, I put 2000km on it in the first week. I filled the tray with bags of cement mix and then went and drove up up and down sand dunes for a couple of days.
The mechanics at the stealership say that my engine is consistently one of the cleanest and strongest diesels they see there.

But, each to their own. Enjoy your new ride, man!

I do have to say that 11 white is sure sweet. I just bought a complete rear tail section from e-bay from some place that seems to be parting out new bikes because they are selling brand new take off fairings ,tank & such off the 2011's all in the pearl white like that and when it got here I was like dayuuumm I like that color.:thumbsup:

And I actually just bought it to complete another set of fairings to paint up different color in case the po po were ever looking for a orange 08 around clarksville

Congrats though, very sweet color :bowdown:

I don't know much about a gen2 I own a gen1. One thing I can tell you about powder coating ( I do my own powder coating) if you are going to do the shifter remove the bushings in the shifter! I didn't notice mine even had bushings and when I pulled them to cool I use the F bomb.... The rubber mounts had no problem in the oven even at 425 for 20 minutes. Rule of thumb rubber can handle more heat then plastic... Plastic melts rubber gets harder.

hey San Diego, hit up Lamb some time for a ride. Lamb has been a busa rider since 2004 and has ridden all the local roads since 1986! Hed love to meet you sometime.

Later
Lamb!

:welcome: to the oRg. 2nd question : My advise is to buy a good quality low cost 4-2-1, add anywhere from 5 to 15 RWHP and lose the ugly exhaust cans and about 35 pounds.

Great looking ride

Nice Busa brother.. I just got mine too about two mo. Ago. I'm loving it as well. I got the Zero Gravity screen and I have plenty visibility on the gages. Good luck and enjoy that bad boy..

for tall guys like us (6'3") we need the double bubble and the buell foot peg mod, do a search for it. Here is a pic of mine!

You will be happy with the service Tim gave you; He's a great guy. Your going to love, love , love that double bubble too.

U speaking in 3rd person?? :)

he is just being Lamb, plus its his birthday today (I think). :beerchug:

If you have not yet done so, highly recommended getting your suspension set-up (for your weight + riding preferences). I took mine to Lee's Cycle (off Aero Dr @ 15fwy)...best $35 I've spent so far.
P.S. There is a good DIY posted by Jinkster if you'd rather do it yourself.
