Another thing the Kanji is the equivalent of a word(s) in English. It means "Pergren Falcon" but I'm told it means more like "The fierce, fastest bird" by my Japanese friends. So cutting it off left to right would be like saying "The fierce, fas". That's why I cut the bottom off instead of the sides when I was stretching it. One of my goals was to make the bike look smaller (lighter?) so the blue was intended to look "inserted" into the black and the Kanji was covered where they overlapped. All artistic mumbo jumbo but you won't believe the hours I spent researching this, kanjis in general, and trying stuff on the bike.
Funny in the end I had a friend in Japan (who can read this writing) say it doesn't even say Falcon at all! It means "fast animal", and the falcon thing is a myth!
I had them resin printed to keep all detail, also allowed for easy prep to paint. Not sure material other than some sort of plastic, but at this thickness does contour around fairing.
