Keep the Busa or go with the B-King?

Ok I own both a B King and Hayabusa. I love them both and to say one is superior to the other is silly. While north American haven't bought B Kings they are great Bikes. The Busa is great as well.
Strengths
The B King is IMHO far superior in traffic and is much easier to handle in the city than the Busa ever thought of being. Brakes are great and seating position is amazingly comfortable. Perceived acceleration is AMAZING, and here in North America you will not find 4 others like yours in every paking lot.
Areas of the B King that is not so Good , It is IMHO the Ugliest Production Motorcycle EVER Built and the Best view of it is over the handle bars where where Pivoting your right hand pretties it up real fast. The worst feature of the B King in my opinion is it's relatively small fuel capacity. Also it has been noted that the pillion is rather like riding on the business end of Dull axe, and at arrest me speeds the wind is very noticeable. This is not a bike to ride because you are cool and want to be seen on a cool bike, and "what is that is that?" is a question you are going to hear.
The Busa is great I personally believe that they are great looking (but Hey I like the Duc 999) Wind protection is great, the aftermarket is very very deep and you pretty much have to leave the planet not to find parts.( Just try getting a decent aftermarket Windscreen for a B King) Fuel capacity matches about the time you want to spend riding the bike. Oh Did I mention it redefined fast for motorcycles? The Pillion is by all reports far more comfortable than the B King
Down side to a Busa, the riding position is designed for someone 5'8 or less as proven by the number of products designed to improve it, at speeds below 40 it is awkward when compared to the B King, in traffic the riding position limits your view and you have to move around a good deal to be situationally aware. Just a Note in talking to some friends in Law Enforcement the note that the appearance and riding position of the Busa is far more likely to get it stopped than a Naked Bike at the same speed. Just something to be aware of.
My advice to the original poster is go find someone with a B King , ride one before you through you cash down. They are Both great bikes Neither is superior just different.

Very nice information from someone who owns both. I readily admit to not knowing much about the B King but I now have to research a little bit to become more familiar. Perhaps one is available and in my future.....with permission from the wife of course! ???

Thanks for all the info, opinions and conversations about the B-King and Hayabusa. Its good to hear from people who own them and know more than I do. The reason I was even looking at the B-King is because of the seating position and the uniqueness of the bike (that could be bad or good). The fact that it may not be supported by the aftermarket may be a concern, but I'm not sure yet. I wish I could get a test ride on one, but here in the NYC area, most dealers wont allow that. Do you guys think that the B-King will eventually become a cult collectable bike?

Probably a cult bike in the same league as a Madura...

You gen2 Busa guys can thank the B-King for letting you have our engine in your bike, since it was designed for the King, then you can tell everyone how much better yours is. Go park your Busa at a bike night and watch everyone walk by but park a King there and watch the crowds gather around it.

sideswipe, go over to suzukib-king.org to really learn about the bike. Seems some of these guys will bash anything that is different but have no first hand experience on one.

What have you been smoking ???

The Gen2 engine and the Gen1 are vertually the same...the Gen2 has some upgrades, but you could run a Gen2 in a Gen1 frame or vis versa.

I sold my B-King and bought a Busa.

I got sick of the small tank, windblast and weird looks.

YMMV

I've been looking for a B-King... I will own one soon!

Funny, i think the B-King looks better than any Gen II Busa. Doesn't have that scrunched-up flat-ass Vespa rear end the II has. Gen I is the rocking one but for looking like a German nihilist ("This will not stand man..") ya gotta give props to the King...

I've NEVER heard anyone dislike the Bking just because it didn't sell. I'm looking at buying one because they're more comfortable than a Busa. After my back injury I can't take the Busa seating position with the long reach to the grips and I do not want to have a handlebar conversion on a full fairing bike.

Yo, GM, get one! It's your money and your back. Anything with that engine is gonna be awesome. And the styling is manga meets the 21st Century which ain't too shabby. Remember those butt ugly Honda Rune bikes or however you spell it. Now that's U-G-L-Y on two wheels...

never ridden a b king. I like the look and idea of them though. I really like the naked/streetfighter look, and know a lot of people that do too.

I would ask myself this: how fast do you like going? I would imagine if you like doing high speed pulls from time to time, you oughta stick with the busa. Just remember that while the b king will still get you up there in speed, and will likely do great compared to most bikes out there, you lose the amazing aerodynamics that comes with the busas. Probably not the best feeling at 150+, especially if you are used to the busa.

Then there are guys that bash them because they had one...like myself.....different, yes...worth the same money as a legend...i think not!

A friend of mine has one and it is a fun bike to ride. It just depends on what you want the bike for. The B King does have a great fun factor. If I could have both, I would have one. Don't worry about what other people say, get what makes You happy. :)

You are on crack :poke: or drunk

Hey GM here's for pretty cheap:

Suzuki : B-King | eBay

Don't know they guy, live 2000 miles away but there ya have it. I wonder if you could lose the pipes, get 'em out from under your butt and down where they belong? That is the only styling tip I'm not a fan of...

To be honest I would have agreed with you until I rode a B King. The key to me buying one was riding one. When they first came out my wife and I went to see them and we both said "my god that is the Ugliest thing I have ever seen" How eve a year later I had taken my Goldwing in for a scheduled service and he had 2 one with a 2 brothers set up on it and slider. He asked if I wanted to take it for a ride (He knows that if I like something , I have the impulse control of a gnat. I was hooked and brought it home for $8500. BTW I say this about any Bike don't tell me what it is worth to you until you have some saddle time on it. Thats how I wound up with my Goldwings,, and my Busa.
