Keep the Busa or go with the B-King?

Just a question while we are on this topic
Can I put a b-king tail conversion on a gen1 bike?
I Just curious and don't want to start a thread:whistle:

I missed out on a killer B-king deal last December. Romney WV cycles had a new King with Two Bros slip-ons, aftermarket seat and windscreen for $7800. The bike had 70miles on it.

wow i wouldve bought that just to resell it...

Owned many bikes... own four presently... Owned and rode the crap out of a Gen I busa. In my opinion, the B - King is the funnest best all around bike in the universe! And - I've said this many times - if you care more about how your bike looks than how it performs and handles and worry about how cute your ass looks in leathers on a particular bike - then you're a lowly "motorcycle owner" not a "Motorcycle rider". Bought the B-King 12/26/08 and have nearly 20 K miles on it. I've traded many bikes after a year or two, however because it's a rare bike and IMO is such a fantastic ride this is the one I want to hand down to my son. Most bikes are a dime a dozen - and I would never trade the B-King for another sportsbike or any other motorcycle for that matter. The real question is when you have more than one motorcycle from which to choose - which one do you choose the "most". I my case - I pick the B-King keys 8 times out of 10. I could go on and on but look at the bikes I own and the one I ride most of the time is on the top of the list. No disrespect to any other bikes - I lik'em all in some way but I wonder how many who have commented have even ridden a B-King (couldn't be that many because it was a flop) and have experience with a wide range of motorcycles from which to make a comparison? I hear very little smack talk about the B-King's looks or performance as I'm pulling away and weaving through rush hour commuter traffic on the way to work!

i never liked the bking, but seeing DJxtrodinaire's in person, kinda made it grow on me. a very comfortable bike to sit on. it's def different looking, but why would you want to look just like everyone else.

I see most on here have no idea of riding a BKing.

1st If your older and not so nimble the Busa is out (if your fat too).

2nd It is not slow, any very good rider on the King will get it to perform.

3rd It is a bike for riding around and accelerating from first gear roll ons to 140mph. It is not made for 150+ like a Busa. Wind will blow you around at 150.

5th comparing the two is a futile exercise. One is a naked awesome comfortable street bike with the best brakes in town. The Busa is a not so comfy, lean down over the tank to get to the bars sport bike. It is a dime a dozen, even more than that, common as dirt. The King is hardly ever seen out and about. Two totally different riding styles with the same engine.

They both run 0-100 probably pretty much the same. So, pick what you want, comfy or not so comfy, common or uncommon? Plus the Kings are CHEAP at dealers.

Good Luck with your choice.

Thanks to all for the info and advice, you guys are all very knowledgeable and I appreciate the input. I pick up my B-King tomorrow.

Ok I own both a B King and Hayabusa. I love them both and to say one is superior to the other is silly. While north American haven't bought B Kings they are great Bikes. The Busa is great as well.
Strengths
The B King is IMHO far superior in traffic and is much easier to handle in the city than the Busa ever thought of being. Brakes are great and seating position is amazingly comfortable. Perceived acceleration is AMAZING, and here in North America you will not find 4 others like yours in every paking lot.
Areas of the B King that is not so Good , It is IMHO the Ugliest Production Motorcycle EVER Built and the Best view of it is over the handle bars where where Pivoting your right hand pretties it up real fast. The worst feature of the B King in my opinion is it's relatively small fuel capacity. Also it has been noted that the pillion is rather like riding on the business end of Dull axe, and at arrest me speeds the wind is very noticeable. This is not a bike to ride because you are cool and want to be seen on a cool bike, and "what is that is that?" is a question you are going to hear.
The Busa is great I personally believe that they are great looking (but Hey I like the Duc 999) Wind protection is great, the aftermarket is very very deep and you pretty much have to leave the planet not to find parts.( Just try getting a decent aftermarket Windscreen for a B King) Fuel capacity matches about the time you want to spend riding the bike. Oh Did I mention it redefined fast for motorcycles? The Pillion is by all reports far more comfortable than the B King
Down side to a Busa, the riding position is designed for someone 5'8 or less as proven by the number of products designed to improve it, at speeds below 40 it is awkward when compared to the B King, in traffic the riding position limits your view and you have to move around a good deal to be situationally aware. Just a Note in talking to some friends in Law Enforcement the note that the appearance and riding position of the Busa is far more likely to get it stopped than a Naked Bike at the same speed. Just something to be aware of.
My advice to the original poster is go find someone with a B King , ride one before you through you cash down. They are Both great bikes Neither is superior just different.

great post.
"This is not a bike to ride because you are cool and want to be seen on a cool bike"
that defines many busa owners, and those who do appearance-only mods for attention.
and yes, at 6'4" my 09 didn't fit well until helibars, and lower pegs. Now I can ride for as long as I please.
-only point i'd disagree, I think the bking looks good, it is modern and unique. thanks.

Glad to here you are getting a B-King, They are awesome bikes and you will not be disappointed, They handle just as good as a busa, they are more comfy to ride and are really an all around more fun bike than the busa, and they have better brakes. The only thing is the passenger seat if you ride to up alot, It isnt real comfy. But my last GF and I still put 8,600 miles on mine in 6 months before I sold it, And yes I miss it, And yes they do run just as good as a stock busa, PROOF HERE
