Is it just me or does anyone else get people that see your bike and wanna talk to you about bikes, but they make up stuff and swear they are bikers and know it all but within 1min of talking it's clear they are clueless...? I find it very annoying! I am all about bike chat, afterall it's what I love most! Just hate when people wanna tell you about their honda cbr1200 or their hayabusa 1000, or their ducati daytona they used to own... you get the idea... If you have questions just ask and be yourself...It just gets old to me! I don't know it all but I don't pretend to either! Just venting.... I had a guy tell me he owned an 1100cc Hayabusa the other day and he was serious as a heart attack!:rofl::banghead:
Does anybody else get these kind of people and what do you normally say? Or do you just try to walk away like I do while nodding my head!

It just seems to be happening alot lately to me! If they you don't know...ask! Just don't make a fool out of yourself!

I met a new busa owner that was like that, he took it to the drag strip and ran in the 9s, would have respectable but it was the 1/8 mile ???

Lots of these stories on this board. It amazes me how much people (that do not ride/or own a bike) know about motorcycles.

:laugh:I had a guy at work tell me he was running 7.50s in the 1/4ml in a nova with 500hp:rofl: 7.50s in the 1/4 mile in a car takes more like 1200hp:rofl: I laughed in his face.

yeah thats great! It was probably his cousins boyfriends friends car!
Somebody probably told him about it and now he was runnin 1/4 mile in it:rofl::rofl::rofl:

you get jerkoffs like that any time you have something that other people wish they had, whether its fast cars or bikes. i just ignore them.

I just smile and nod.

Yep, that's what I do. For years I've had people tell me about such and such a mission a Special Ops team did, that they were on (probably read about it in SOF mag or some news report) . Only problem, I was on it and I've never met or heard of this person in my life  . I just let them keep on raving about Bla Bla Bla. If it makes them feel better, to me, SO WHAT, I just :flush: down with alot of other things I hear. I just figure that anyone who knows them, knows it's a bunch of Bull left overs :moon: and I really don't care.

Some people just have to live in a dream world, because their real world has ALWAYS been boring and dull. With absolutely ZERO results (to them anyway) . You'll find most spend alot of time watching TV, Movies and being on the NET  . And have a regular non-exciting job (which there is NOTHING wrong with that) . Hint::: Most Exciting Jobs AREN'T and are generally hours of training followed by months or years of BOREDOM :beerchug:

You need to work on your "I'm not approachable" face. Works for Lamb!

Somebody was telling my they had a friend that ran in the 9's in the 1/4 mile. And I said thats pretty nasty for a street car are you sure. They said yeah he takes it to Greer Dragway. I said that's an 1/8 mile track......sigh

I fortunately have yet to encounter that . All I get is respect bordering on reverence when people either approach me or find out what bike I ride . Honestly even the people I work with treat the Hayabusa like it's an almost mythical creature . And a buttload of them ride(mostly Harleys),although only two of us have 'Busas .

My neighbor is a retired trooper and he rides a Harley, he asked me one day to explain what a Hayabusa was. Seems I went by his house and he had a fellow trooper tell him how fast they were.
Now all I hear is "ride a wheelie" everytime we ride togehter.
