I don't do it all the time except when traffic during rush hour is backed up real bad. I think it's a lot of fun and surreal at the same time. Just ridin' by all these cagers and their tempermental SoCal attitudes. I know many of them wish they were on 2 wheels
However, I remember when I took my MSF class back in October my ridercoach, who is also a full time CHP officer, told the class that it is NOT ILLegal to lane split but he DOES NOT ENCOURAGE IT AT ALL WHATSOEVER. He also mentioned that the CHP is pushing toward legislation to make lane splitting permanently illegal here in Cali town too.
