Well, one reason I'm thinkin' all motor, or motor & spray is that I'll only use the spray in high gear and only on 200mph attempts. Given that, I'll only have the added wear and tear of a power adder when I'm sprayin' (a few seconds per run) as opposed to all the time runnin' a turbo. I'm thinkin' that in reality I won't really have too many opportunities to try for 200 so it'd be rare that I actually sprayed 'er... I'm thinkin' a properly tuned and lightly sprayed big cc motor would last me longer than a turbo motor.Done a stack of research on what it takes lately to get 200+ and hit high eights with motor, with Nos, and with boost.
Leaving setup completely aside, cuz we can change that at anytime, and just speaking power, if yer gonna hit 200 on an all motor bike yer gonna need a really strong 1397 prolly around 220hp+.....add the bottle and you'll be gauranteed...shouldn't really need it though!!
It's possible to do it with around 200hp if yer a little dude, but not when yer our size...... 250+ lbs.
You or I are gonna need a little extra oomph to get there.
I've decided on a turbo, cus once ya break every penny down it's actually not alot different.
A ghetto kit with a tial gate is gonna set ya back about 4k.
A 220+ motor is gonna set ya back only a little less depending on who builds and tunes.
You should talk to JC and see what he'll charge!!
I figure I should see in the neighbourhood of 210+- with a 280hp ghetto, and hopefully see 8.99 if I can ride the damn thing.....that ones gonna be tough!!!
Hard to build for both worlds though.
IMHO......ultimate for drag would be big all motor/NOS....ultimate for the big end would be turbo....call it and go with it dude!!
I'm callin ghetto for my purpose, the only question I have, which can't even be answered for sure is which will last longer??
Nice quad! Wish I had one of those to play on... and a place to play with it!Definitely keep us posted. I am just jealous becasue I wnat a twistie bike too but had to get back into Flat track racing a Quad heres a pic if you want to see it.
I found 'em for $415 shipped to my door. That's not too much more than the other brands that I liked.wow BT, Sato rearsets... that's some $$!
Yeah, I've decided to pass on a really nice cage and have two nice bikes and just a decent cage. I'm really not into cages anymore. I'd much rather have two awesome bikes than one nice bike and one nice cage (with a bigger payment than a second bike would be, no less...). I'll get far more enjoyment out of two purpose built bikes.Nice pics BT, I might have to look for me a second job,,,,,,,,I have been on the fence about building all motor with a shot or just getting the Stage two. Either way I go I will have to wait till I arrive back stateside because I will need a good tuner with any direction I go. For now I will get the chassis, shifter, wheels, and any other little bolt-ons I can do myself. Then dig into the motoryou got the right idea about having a twistie ride and a rocket for the 1/4 mile. OK OK I'm now jealous
Thanks, bro.The bracket eliminator looks great, BT. I know 'Da Demon has some gold accents to set off, but do you want that much more gold. You were heading down that stealth look with the can and removal of the decals, but it seems you are deviating now. Maybe just the gold levers and black rearsets? Anyway, just a thought. Can't wait to see one of the 2 bikes at the Gap and I may have a surprise or 2 for 'ya!
Thanks.Looks good BT.
Thank you j.looks good.
Me too!I like 'em soft and sticky...
What the fug are you talkin' about?not a hater but man you better learn how to ride it first no? YOUR GONNA SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT!Whatta ya think? Haters need not reply. You will only be ignored. All constructive feedback is welcomed on the planned parts though.
I need to "learn how to ride" before I put on better rearsets?talking about the rearsets !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
