when u lanch do u just drop the clucth or do u just feather it ? an what rpm range do u lanch at ? im new 2 the whole dragracing scene so im still alittle scared of what all would happen if i just dropped it at 5-6 grand just need alittle help :cookoo:

I don't race but from what I've heard you need to kinda real quickly slip it out not dump it and get to WOT
 
Ricky Gadson says to slip the clutch and have it fully out and WOT by the 60ft mark. Do not just dump it, the tire will brake loose and controll will become a problem .How much do you weigh? You can also yank the muffler and make some noies at the strip. My 08 is setup very much like yours and I weigh 230lbs and run 9.51 # 145mph 60ft @ 1.65. Bike dynoed 181hp with no PC closed loop works fine.

what all have you done to yours? I also have an 08, all I've done is a full stainless Yosh system. The best I can do is a 10.36 and I'm around 220lbs. Do you have any hints for me. Also what do you mean by closed loop? Thanks.

well i a big ol boy 275lb 6-0' i havent had a chance 2 launch at a track yet dont have leathers i let my mechanic run an he run 9.90 he weighs about 200-230 but it was tuned yet . no tox i havent sry ill look in 2 it
 
Top triple to lower the front around 2 inches, adjustable rear lowering links, lowering strap, streched 6 to 7 inches, Shinko rear tire with 10lbs air pressure, MPS auto air shifter set fot 10200rpm and worth every penny. On board air compressor.
The closed loop has to do with the oxy senser in the exaust bung that keeps the proper fuel mix even if the air cleaner and muffler are removed. If you want to mess with timing you will need a Power Commander.
On the dyno chart below notice the air fuel ratio at the bottom, it is spot on with a Yosh no muffler or air cleaner NO Power Commander.

I have raced kokomo 1 time

I let clutch out till starts pull me then inch it back in.

Then drop it there dont hold all way in.

does he have a clutch mod that may help.

Be shure to install a clutch slave support b-4 installing race springs
to prevent damage 2 clutch slave.

the only clutch mod i have is we welded the slipper an my guy says i just need 2 ride an practice be4 since its tune its putting 185hp at the rearwheel now plus we added a ign.module an we removed the t.r.e
 
WAT1000 wanted to know what is on my bike. And I also have the Boost by Smith TRE so I can keep the gear indicator.

closed loop is not a fix, it is a state of being...

the fuel system is linked to the exhaust system via the 02 sensor.. when the motor is warm and everything is working, the system is in "closed loop" meaning the engine sensors are in control of the motors fuel system..

*grossly over simplified but hope you get the idea.. in other words, the bike can tune itself just fine
