launching?

when u lanch do u just drop the clucth or do u just feather it ? an what rpm range do u lanch at ? im new 2 the whole dragracing scene so im still alittle scared of what all would happen if i just dropped it at 5-6 grand just need alittle help :cookoo:

I have only been drag racing about 3 months now on my 07 and my very first pass was in the 10.70 range with a 1.99 60 ft. After a few pointers from the local racers and alot of seat time 2 weeks ago I went a 9.78 @144 with a 1.66 60 ft. Never dropped the clutch once ,just a controlled slow release and rolling the throttle from 5k rpm. I do have some mods to the clutch and suspension but the engine is stock and has more in it.

yea i seen that in ga this weekend at the drag races alot of ppl had them the msd guy told it will work with a pc or u can buy there module

boosta1395

so do you recommend dyno tuning or a PCIII for the bike if it will tune itself. or are the tuning minor?

Take it to Johnny Cheeze and let him work his magic. Or Just put on a pipe and let the oxygen sensor on the stock system do its job at keeping the air fuel ratio perfict and save your money on a dyno tune and a PCIII. I belive what Johnny does is mess with the timming and gets more power and you need a PCIII to do that.
If I lived closer to Johnny I would pay him a visit with some cash in hand. The Biggest state ia a long way from the 2nd biggest.:poke:

Alaska is pretty far away for me to take my bike to get it tuned. There is a shop in Charolette called Lee's Proformance everyone saids he is a GOD with tuning bikes, so I may have to take it to him. I already have a full Yosh system on it, however that's all I've done so far.

In Alaska there is only 1 dyno and it is at the Harley shop. Johnny Cheeze is located in Texas. I belive there are many good tuners in the lower 48. The Harley dyno burned down a turbo Busa of mine so I realy dont trust them with turbos. However I will get a base line from them and my 08 with only a Yosh full system with the muffler removed made 181 hp and 108 tq with a perfict stright line on the air fuel and no power commander.

this is a good launch check it out

Mr. B

I have a good friend of mine just left Alaska a few months ago. He is in the Army, he rides a Blue/Black 03 Busa all chromed out. We can he, "Debo" wonder if you rode with him.

If he is an Afercan American I shot the breeze with him at a leather shop last summer. Very nice man and a bike addict like me.
