Made in China- Wave Rotors

Actually my rotors are imported..."Braking" rotors are made in Italy...I don't care if they are $10 or $1000 a pair...what I do care about is Italian steel (read Western European), Italian engineers, Italian craftsmen, Italian businessmen, the latter who have distinguished themselves in the global mercantile world as PEOPLE WHO CARE about what they produce(over the past 100 years, BTW). I bet the employees of "Braking" ride their personal motorcycles home at night that have "Braking" rotors on them. I doubt if that happens in Bejing. Raydog

so where would one find these rotors? The name is a total disaster for a search engine to find... "Braking Rotors" only generates about 4M hits

A link would be most helpful... I see Brembo is Italian as well... go figure

Yes, they are hard to find, I just looked and found one place...cyclepages.com....I know there are a few world class choices in rotors, I just know I've ridden very hard in 90 degree heat for hours in twisties and at the end, they are still 1-2 finger "bring down from 100" with never a sign of fade. Raydog (sorry for temp. thread jack)

here is a no fender shot of fronts

1. already a lost cause, you can not (repeat can not) get by without their products in every day life, we have outsourced to the lowest bidder..
You may believe it to be a lost cause.  I do not.  The belief that you cannot do anything about the direction of the economy is a self-fulfiling prophecy.  As if communism and a dismal human rights record were not reason enough to boycott Chinese goods, China is our (USA) next main military and economic rival.

Karl
Karl, I totally agree with you, you may be quite conservative (I have no idea) and I quite liberal....we are both United States citizens and just in the past year, foodstuffs from PRC has been poison, paint on toys has had high lead content AND a dangerous drug in it, their human rights record makes Putin look like Mother Teresa, and they have ignored many international copyright agreements....and don't forget the incredible volumes of pollution that spews from that country with quantity trumping environment. So would I install their brake components on my 200 mph motorcycle? I think not. Raydog
Nuff sed!!! You could have closed the thread after this post.

The Swiss Keep time

The Italian's make shoes and rotors.

just get EBC Prolites for about 380.00/set.
For hard street use, it's all the quality and 1/2 the novelty of the galfers.

When you buy Chinese goods you and help build their military machine. They were the ones in Korea fighting our service men; in Vietnam they did help North Vietnam in an advisory status and in some special operations. The Chinese government is not our friend.

.....and Aprilias, Bimotas, Laverdas, Moto Guzzis, Ducatis, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, oh yeah, they make pretty good timepieces too.

It would be interesting to see a review on these rotors. But you're right I'll stick with my Galfers.

I started this thread looking to see if anyone has had first hand experience with these rotors. (Thanks Canadian Mike for your specific reply).

I certainly didn't mean to start a debate about US Chinese economics.
Did you know.
The US National Debit is just over 9,000,000,000,000 (Nine Trillion),
With just over 800,000,000,000 (Eight Hundred Billion) owned to China.
As well, the US imported nearly 300 billion dollars in goods from China.
While the US only exported 58 billion in return, mostly Petroleum.
Just sayin'.

Now about those rotors...
I'll have to chek into that "Braking" Brand.

Thanks for all your replies guys.

Made in Japan once meant it was junk, Wow!, how that changed. The company I work for recently opened a office in China. Our company goal as I understand it, is to try and sell our products there, as well as, look for less expensive ways to manufacture some of our assemblies.

Many good philosophical points here, but for many companies, from a business perspective, not doing business with China is a poor decision.

As far as quality goes, that is completely up to the Manufacturer, how far do they want to go to ensure the China facility meets their quality specs.

I recently read an article where Japanese motorcycle manufacturers are starting to use some Korean manufactured parts on the bikes(most likely non critical sub assemblies). This fact evidently is not promoted. For better or worse, It is truly a global economy.

Justplaynbob, actually, thanks for starting this idea, since the Hayabusa is arguably one of the most aftermarketed motorcycles in history and one of the most powerful as well, discussions of this nature are really important! Clearly, the fitting of a Chinese rearview mirror to a 125cc bike is a whole different discussion compared to major system components on a Hayabusa. Ultimately, it's each of our choices as to what products we finally choose...but strands like this help us to be educated consumers in the world of motorcycles! Raydog

Why are the good brakes so darn expensive?
rock.gif
? They do not even come close to costing that much to manufacture! I hate name brand price gouging!!!!

If they are manufactured under a U.S. Corporations name, I'm sure their liability insurance and lawyers get a piece of the pie.

I'm sure liability insurance aint cheap, when your manufacture/sell aftermarket customer installed brakes.

Galfers or Braking for wavey disks, now if the Chinese did a cheap version of a hotbodies undertray I would be interested
