Meet-n-greet 2 (2006)

Thanks for posting up some directions for the folks looking to make it here from down South... I would also not recommend coming through Eureka Springs if your bikes are in tow.. The twisty roads can take a very long time to travel. Especially if there is any real traffic! I'll be coming down 37 through Gateway onto 62 East looking for 187 south. This of course is coming from the NW..

Captain Very glad to see you and the Mrs coming to the event! Will have to do a quick inventory on Friday and see whats still required... I'll keep you posted if we still have requirements.  Looking forward to meeting everyone, can't wait to go ride on Saturday in a group setting. Plenty to do and see while your here. There will be lots of opportunities to visit and of course ride. We should have some suggested routes for day trips from the event if you want to go off on your own or with a couple of your riding buddies. Saturday is of course the Group Cookout and schmusing event.... So plan on staying up late and sharing some stories about you and of course our beloved hobby Riding.

(DREW @ Sep. 08 2006,16:10) Parking is right in front of room doors. if you are on upper level, that is. All roads are paved. you were kidding right?
No, not kidding at all. I attanded a wedding in the area a few years ago at a resort , and the road going to the hotel was gravel! I had just bought a new truck, with black exterior. The truck was so pretty and clean when I left the dealership, and when I got to the hotel it looked like I had just compleated the Baja 1000, I was pissed! Just wanted to know so I would know how much Honda wax to bring.

(captain @ Sep. 09 2006,00:32) KS---- sign me and the Mrs... Up for something.... We are riding the Goldwing in so we dont have a lot of room but I am sure there will be a store we can go to... OR if you just need cash to cover the cost of something else let me know....

Anyone else excited about this? I have had this board for almost 7 years and this is the first get together I've been able to go to......

Cap
This is my first get together and I can't wait.

Comment to the pulling the Busa's in the room. We are talking about a small town in Ark. I don't think the crime rate is too high. Why not park all the bikes close together. I am sure people will be in and out all night.

(semicps @ Sep. 07 2006,13:44) you can put me down for whatever we need if i can catch a ride with blue and red into town...i'll be in early fri. eve on my bike so can't really bring anything with me...can't wait to meet everyone
I will have my truck and plan to make a run to the store. You can ride along. I will be in Fri. eve. too.

(Red05 @ Sep. 08 2006,15:31)
(GSXcite @ Sep. 08 2006,16:20) Do any of you guys know what the parking situation is at the hotel. Is there a good place to park the truck and trailer and a secure spot for the busa at night? Also are the roads paved to the hotel?
I just called and the lady said they have a good parking area, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks Red05. Just looked at your profile and it seems we have alot in common, can't wait to meet you. In addition to us owning the same bike ( the fastest color) I'm also into cars, tinkering and fixing houses. Are you sure we are not brothers with different mothers? LOL See you soon.

Not to be a post ho, but I forgot to mention for the guys riding in, I will have bike stands, chain wax, cleaning products, rags, microfibre towels, tools, compressor, spare rear tire and wheel etc. so if any of you need to make a repair or adjustment, or clean up your baby you will be covered. See you all soon!

Great idea! Thanks. I was thinking of having my wife bring the rear stand in the car for the overnight park. This will be my bike's first night outside

Don't forget you are also talking about an event that has been advertised on the www for 6 months. Don't let your guard down too much. I'll just make sure I park by a nicer one than mine!

+1 I'll be rolling in hopefully before dark on Friday.

guys, not to worry about the safety of the bikes....I can still leave my keys in the car all night long windows down, in my driveway....(not on purpose, just forget sometimes) and almost never lock the doors at the house. Not saying general safety precautions shouldn't be taken, just a little different around these parts. Good news! about 10 miles of the Sat ride has just been paved! That only leaves 200 miles of dirt road....he he he

Hey, I'm new to the site. I'll be seeing you guys in Eureka next weekend and I look forward to seeing your Busas. Can someone tell me what lodge/cabin everyone is staying in and do you have the number to get a reservation?

(captain @ Sep. 10 2006,12:18) Professor are you riding or trailering to Arkansas?
I'm trailering mine and the wife's. If you need me to haul anything let me know. We'll be leaving Tuesday, staying just north of ES the first 3 nights. Moving to Pointewest Friday.

Might still check, I know there has been at least one cancel. Also my mapping software shows the Roadrunner in as being close, but looking on the web site, it looks like a couple of miles. I haven't actually seen the place, but have been in the parking lot of pointe west once.
