I hope that the planning of riding will be better than what happened at the bash....I hope that people won't try and ride past their limits.  Me being one of them.  We don't have a lot of twisties in KS...so I will be in the back...
I do not believe any planning is going to stop what happened at the bash.

It is everyone's responsibility to police the group and ensure their own safety. If you see someone is who riding over their limits and putting others in danger it is your responsibility to take action. Immediately give them room so they are not putting you in danger. Everyone will have a pretty good ideal where of the route and someone waits at major turns. There is not need to ride an uncomfortable pace. At the first chance either talk to them about the situation or work with someone else to address it.

There are plenty of routes to take in the area. Some real short loops etc. Plenty of fun for everyone. Large group rides is really not my thing either. Fall 2006 I had more fun riding a Sunday loop with Busawhipped and my wife than the group ride. There is always plenty to do for all that are there.

To me the most fun is meeting and interaction with other at the lodge, the restaurants etc. Don't get me wrong, the riding is fantastic. I just have to be so much more on my guard riding with groups and try to resist the temptation to ride at extreme levels.
+1    Because the majority of us are guys, we tend to succumb to "trying to keep up".  We need to "Ride your own Ride".  Folks are less likely to get hurt that way.

Don
No need to try to keep up. the ride leader will stop at all turns and wait for those in the back. We will have a "sweeper" and he will bring up the rear. I like to be at the end of the group, preferably just in front of the sweeper if possible. Not sure why I like this position, but again, there is no rush at all.

That was an awesome day.  Chasing you the long way from Pointe West to War Eagle.  It look me over a year to figure out the route we took
laugh.gif
I look forward to chasing you this time!

BTW, I've got a picture I need to post to share with. You remember the swinging bridge and the Mr. Personality that came to visit us? The whole campground was under water almost to his little shack. I'll see If I can dig it out tonight. Both ends of the bridge was standing in water. oh and the pecan cobler was just as good as the last time.

I was going to post a pic from that ride, but I moved them all to my desktop when I got the new laptop. I remember Mr. Personality. Stop sign? Is that what that thing is

I need to make time to get back to War Eagle again.

any DFW riders want to meet up that friday morning & ride up?
beerchug.gif
scot, im pretty sure richard and warp10 and a few others will be riding up.

I just got the new trailer and a new company truck so the GF and I will be trailerin up to get there thursday and sight see some before the main group shows up!

If you need me to swing up thru dallas on my way up and over, i can carry anything u need carried. Just let me know... and that goes for any other DFW area riders that are riding up instead of trailering/hauling.
