Mesh screen fairing mod...

freechance, save yourself a headache later on and get some RTV sealant now that you have them glued in place and go over them to make them stay permanent....you wont regret it:thumbsup:

Stay away from the hot glue! Trust me on this one lol. It gets a little too warm in there for hot glue. I picked up some gutter guard from Rona (I think that is a canadian only chain?) but they had it in both natural aluminum and in black. I got the black stuff and it looks great!

I can speak to this too, Do Not Use the Hot Glue! Or as Ace would say, Step away from the glue gun!

I just used a drop of hot glue just enough to hold the screen in place then used high temp silicone to seal it all up...

Only hot glued a drop in three spots, then siliconed over the drops of hot glue..if it does melt the hot glue theres not enought to hurt anything..

Whhhheeeeeew.... I thought you had hot glue'd the whole screen all the way around.. Looks really good. Can't wait to see the finished result when you get everything mounted.
Oh... The stiff'ness in the screen is a VERY good thing.. You will thank yourself for that when you clean / wax your fairings. If too flimsy; the towel will bend the screen in or dimple it when the towel is "wedged" in the hard to reach crevis of the screen and the fairing.
Good JOB!!! Post up some pics of that black and chrome beauty when you get her all buttoned up.

Its been cold here,so it might be a week or so... I work odd hours..been getting my bike ready for summer, finally almost done..new clutch slave cyclinder, plugs, muzzy fan, temp sensor, oil, lube air filter,..ect..
