Mickey Thompsons MCR tires...

I've heard the latest MT shootout works better when doing a very short burnout. I've also heard it wallows quite a bit on the street, even with 20+ lbs. Haven't heard about longetivity, but I'll bet it wears fast. If you want the ultimate DOT tire for drag racing, buy the new MT shootout. If the older MT works good for you then it would probably be the better choice. I need a 17" rim, the 18" I have now limits me greatly. I went for a ride Saturday the tire would spin & hook & spin & hook in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear. I desperately need a softer better hooking tire, the race compound Meztler ME1 doesn't cut it!

Couldn't tell you, haven't been to a dyno. A good guess would be in the 240-250 range. I run from 12 to 22 lbs boost on a draw through turbo GSXR1109.

Can anyone tell me about the new M/T 195x17x50 drag tire? Ive heard you dont even have to heat it up, just spin it a little before you launch. can this be ridden on the street as the original 190 mcr can? whats the better tire for all around purpose (mostly drag racing and riding the bike on the street- not much high speed cornering). ive also heard the new one is 2 lbs. lighter than the old one- less rubber, track only shootout tire?
