Migraine relief

I know mine are there when I wake up in the morning. By 10:00am I will be praying to die, they make me puke (dry heaves like way too much whiskey), the white light spikes and the pain feels like my brain is rotting. All the over the counter crap in the world won't faze them. I have to take this stuff called Relpax, aka. Elitriptan. Is like a silver bullet on the headaches, take one when I feel the spikes starting to form and within an hour it's like nothing had happened. They ain't cheap but fortunatly my insurance picks up the tab. For small favors I'm truly grateful.

Dang, hit the add post button and it said "internal server error" so I backed up, hit post again, got the same error message but it posted both times. Strange.

we used Migraine Ice. It is like a cold patch or ice pack that goes on the forehead. Put it on and laydown in a dark room. It always worked for the Ex and I.
Wlagreens use to carry it. Best of luck

chelo gets them quite often due to stress, went to the Dr. and got a scrip, but it was too strong and made her sleepy, so she takes excederin migraine and chases it with a coke when she feels one coming on.

If you are a migraneur, then taking medications at the earliest suggestion of a migraine is the best way to keep it from happening. As they say, "once the horse is out of the barn..."

The difference between all of the OTC preparations for excedrine v. exedrine migrane and tylenol and tylenol migraine is caffeine. Read the label. The person who take sthe excedrine migraine with a coke chaser is pretty wise. Caffeine is a diuretic and thus reduces the volume of brain fliud, relieving the migraine.

Half of all head aches are cuased by dehydration. ppl dont hydrate enough as it is. If your prone to migraines, drink up!

Narcs wont work as well for a head ache. it will just change your interpretation of the pain. Motrin does more for peripheral non cranial pains. Its primarily an anti inflamatory. Tylenol/aspirin works centrally in the brain. Hence the caffeinated formulations of tylenol and exceedrine migraine.

Treating headaches is a headache in itself.

Be safe!

I used to get migraines on a regular basis, always attributed them to excessive eye strain (computer monitor) and exposure to toxins (paint fumes, thinners, reducers, hardners, etc.)  I treated them with 800 mg Ibuprofen and caffiene, sometimes it would help, other times not.  Funny thing is I quit smokin 9 months ago and have not had a headache since, talking with other quiters I've found out this is quite common.

600 mg of advil works good and cheap. The best migrane cure I ever had though was to go ahead and pay a fortune for prescription migrane pills when I didn't have insurance. I didn't have migranes for years and years after that.

cold dark quiet room, close eyes and rest.... and if you read the reflexology books, a foot massage focusing on the balls of the foot, particularly the big toe, specifically the top of them.  Worked wonders for an ex that used to get hellish ones

and better living thru chemistry is good too... over the counter drugs can do good things just dont go mixin shid and take lots of liquid with any of them.

There was a book called accupresure that had things like that in it . If your girl has cramps you can massage the small of the back on both sides of the spine in small circular motions to get rid of them.
