Mileage

Hello, I'm a new owner of a '05 Busa. I was wondering how many miles can you put on your bike before you should worry about purchasing another.

As long as you keep up with the maintenance, the bike will last. The key is good maintenance. There are a few guys on this board that have 50K miles on their busas. I also depends on how you plan to ride it and how much you will be riding.

Personally, I have 23K on mine and it's only 14 months old. If all goes well, I plan on at least 100K miles. It's gets new oil/filter every 3 - 3.5K miles. Lube the chain every 500 miles, clean it every 1000 miles. Keep the bike clean, this will let you see a problem before it gets bad ( which can = lots of $$$ to fix vs. catching it early)

Just my .02

Sorry...for got my manners

Welcome to the board !!

As many miles as you want to before buying a new bike! Take care of the bike and it will take care of you.

...I dont have many miles on the busa, but generally comparing it to a Japanese car... well the engine should easily last you about 75,000 if you have serviced & mentained it well!!

You just bought a new busa and you're already worrying about when you need to get a new one??

Maintain your bike and it will last forever. I have heard of people getting 80,000 to 100,000 miles on their bikes, but you'll need to replace normal wear and tear items like chains, sprockets, bearings etc...

A 1300cc is a very large displacement motor and it doesn't have to work as hard as say a 600 to have a little fun. Just don't razz the fvck out of it too much and it'll be fine.

BTW welcome to the board

Welcome to the board. Just do the recommended service and it will last a long time. Big O has over 63,000 on a 2002

Busa likely last with regular maintenace and replacing worn parts. It'll leave a waste land of tires, sprockets and chains tho

I bought my F2 about 1 1/2 years ago and have put 30,000 on it since. I paid $800 for the thing, it was in terrible shape, but it has been pamopered ever since!

It's never let me down!

Take care of it, learn what you need to do and when and then do it yourself. Most basic maintinance is easy to do once you learn how.

You should get 100,000 out of it if you take care of it! Take care of it and it will take care of you!

26k and counting on an 03' purchased new. With exception of blown clutch basket, no other repairs other than typical wear & tear.
