I just got a 06 and have about 500 miles on it. I am getting 25-35 mpg . Is this correct? I got 33mpg on a long trip with freeway speeds. What is everyone else getting . I want to do some touring , but 100 miles to empty is not a good thing .

Thanx Airhead 1775

I get 35 - 43 on 87 octane, thats a combonation of freeway and road at 100 miles a day.

I am getting about 42mpg on my '06....drops to about 38mpg if I work it more.

32-35 if riding hard, 40-42 mixed riding, close to 50 if just interstate cruising...all on premium fuel

40 to 45 mpg on Turnpikes (around 80 mph I get 40 mpg - at 65 on our state roads around 45 mpg). Around town

, don't know cause I don't ride around town, just in and out. Of course I live in the WIDE OPEN SPACES and not traffic clogging LA

Alright, when I ride like a good boy I get 50 MPG by the bike, of course the more I push the less I get. Keep it under 10K once in a while and you'll do better.

Bear in mind that in California, there are a TON of gas additives which reduce the mileage for their people AND they have smog equipment on their bikes which also has an adverse effect on gas mileage.

When I was out there, 33 to 37 was typical. Now that I've left, 39 to 44 is more typical. I still need to take the smog stuff off and see how that affects the mileage.

it depends on your riding style and the mods you have. ive been getting around 35-44. i did have a 35 mile run of speeds up to 180mph and got 25mpg

Your getting the same mileage as the rest of us plain and simple.

The problem is you are resetting your odometer to often.

Run the 2nd trip odometer for at least a 1000 miles and you will get a much more accurate sample.

Crusing on the highway, steady speed (75-80), 6th gear : 45-49mpg

Canyons, 2nd-3rd gear, 5K - 8K rpms : 25 - 33mpg

87 octane, stock exhaust/timing, 180lb rider.

I believe I read somewhere even with a bone stock Busa guys are using a PCIII for fine tuning the factory settings makes bike run smoother little increase of HP and if you keep out of the throttle hard between 46 - 50 mpg.

 Thanx Airhead 1775
If you are stock and have done nothing to mess it up like i have you should be getting more than that if you are riding sensibly! The gas and smog crap shouldn't cause that much of a diff! Does it idle smoothly at 1100 rpm? Does it stall? If so throttle body sync could be off! New i was getting 43 around town, 45 to 50 on long trips. When you are on the freeway reset one of your trip meters the MPG will tell you what you are getting at that moment. I use #2 for rite now info # 1 i leave alone to get an average. Your rite MPG means more to me than just a gallon of gas. Good mpg means an efficient running eng in tune. If you are goin to pay the stealer for your 600 mile service i would complain about it they are supposed to check the TB for sync

Ps i now get 43 tops cause my R- wrist is getting broke in.

My mileage sucked on my '06 the first 100 miles or so then it was mid 40's under break in period. Now that I am through break in period and ride more aggressively it still is high 30's. 87 octane all the way!!!

Your gas mileage will greatly improve once the bike is broke in and you change the oil. I only get about 35 mpg, but I ride hard. I have seen it maxed out at 50 mpg before, but it only last until you go wide open one time.
