More Pics of my Sexy Italian Mistress,

Keith...congrats, yo!  That's awesome.

I couldn't agree more with your assessment that 'it's hard to argue with the 'busa!

Can't wait to get up there and see you again.  Talked with Kelly awhile this morning (via text)...could be as few as three weeks before I descend upon Seattle again.

Nice new toy Rev!!

Is Lilah going to stick around or are you still thinking about selling her?
Lilah is For Sale... Been 2 years pretty much going back and forth but I am simply not riding her much and when I do I am not really enjoying it.
dunno.gif
I'm still sentimental, I'll miss the rocket sled, but when I was searching for a new bike, I kept taking Lilah out and yeah I am just not enjoying it anymore.

The Griso really does remind me of why I started riding. Fun, plain old fun. Not the serious business go FAST fun but the fun of just going down the road smelling the air, enjoying the warm air/ cool air pockets, feeling the engine underneath ya. It's really a much more enjoyable ride for me now.

Still wasn't ready for a Harley, they just didn't do anything for me, and if I want to ride somewhere 2-up I can always just get one from work.

So yeah, the Griso and it's might 89HP or whatever is just what I was looking for, fun. The fact that it's got a booming exhaust and lots of fun bits on it doesn't hurt.

So yeah Lilah For sale with a ton of extras $7500.

It does make me smile a lot though, kinda reminds me of why I started riding as a kid, it's just plain old fun.
I know where your coming from and heading the same direction kinda sorta.

Myself , I am waiting for the 2008 Griso 8 valve . It's without doubt in the cards for one to be in the stable but i am going to mod the hell out of the new engine .

Here is something you may or may not have heard about . The Italians modify everything Italian- the Griso 2 valve 1100 was not immune .

140hp liquid cooled Griso

I hear yah, I was really tempted to wait for the 8V as well, but I got such an amazing deal on the Griso that I couldn't pass it up and after test ride I was completely satisfied with the performance. It's got enough to feel pretty sporty, but not enough to really get me in a lot of trouble. Though the lack of aftermarket stuff is going to be a source of frustration I can tell.

You have any sources for Guzzi parts and accessories?

Oh how good a deal would make me leave 20 odd HP laying on the table? How about $8700 Brand new out of the crate? With the pipe, taxes, setup and a tune? Total on the road was $11,037. So for $6k difference??? I'm good...

Sounds real good, though if you are in the Edmonds Area we can hit Sushi Moto Bro... excellent Spicy Crunchy Tuna Rolls.

Totally down for that...and it doesn't matter where we end up; I trust your taste-buds to lead the way.

Take care, congrats (again), ride safe, and surprise Kelly by telling him I said 'hey'. He'll get a charge out of that.

Ciao!

Thanks for the nice words Rev, I know exactly what you mean about riding with no worries! I have been seriously looking at this rebuilt from the frame up retro and I think I am gonna get it for just that reason as a second bike that is something cool to just run around on.

Still haven't settled on a name, I don't know her well enough. I have my fingers crossed that "she" doesn't end up being a "he" like the car did though
biggrin.gif
.

Fantastic ride though, It's a 2007 Moto Guzzi Griso. It can hang with the Busa no sweat... Um, for about 6 feet or so maybe... If I catch the Busa rider flat footed...

Yeah, You don't buy a Moto Guzzi to go fast. It's still faster than most Harley's though. It handles pretty much like a big sportbike, a little more nimble or flickable than a Busa, I think it's the width of the handle bars, about the same length and about 50lbs lighter. But after spending the last 14 years on a sportbike it's certainly different. It does make me smile a lot though, kinda reminds me of why I started riding as a kid, it's just plain old fun.

Mostly it is what it was designed to be, a Sports Cruiser/Standard... thing.

The seating position is more upright with a wide handlebar rising up to meet you about 3-4 inches earlier than the Busa. Seat is comfy, though a bit wide and little tall. Those with shorter than a 32" inseam might want to have it lowered. It's not the Height, it's the width in this case. It fits me pretty well, though like the busa the pegs are a little high, might look into the Buell peg mod for the Griso.

Brakes are well sorted, good feel and very strong. Chassis feels pretty good, very stiff, no flex that I can notice anyway.

Bike sounds amazing, probably the best part of the bike right behind the smooth ride. Sounds kinda like small block Chevy, deep and angry. Of course with the engine in their sideways you also get a wonderful Torque reaction similar to an American V-8 as well. That's pretty entertaining. Also the engine looks freaking huge, way bigger than an 1100 should anyway. Folks here at work were assuming that it was some sorta monster engined, super fast, sports thing. They were surprised to learn that it's only 1100cc of low tech twin... Still, I haven't seen another one on the roads up here anywhere so that's kind of cool. I had to buy a mirrored visor cause I feel like I'm in a parade wherever I go, everyone looking at it, it's loud and bright freaking red, makes me miss subtlety the black Busa...

Anyway, I know I am boring most of you so I'll make with the pictures.

Outside the office... Yup, the Harley Dealership.

The more I look at it, the more I like it. Need a fender eliminator though.

Love the Pipe, and I love the fact that it's Moto-Guzzi Approved... Though it's also cat equipped. Will be fixing that.

Sounds Good... Suits the bike's "image" of power, and muscle very well. Yeah Image, It's got some muscle I suppose, but it's hard to take it seriously when ANY modern 600cc Sportbike would just run me right the hell over.

The engine does a great job of looking massive!

That Guzzi just looks absolutely beautiful. They are so "mechanic" friendly, a well!

Enjoy it!

That's a good practice, always remember to trust the fat guys to know where the good food is...

321CYA, Wait, why didn't I know there was another member right here in the Hood...

Or are you Turbo John with a different name?

Rev that bike is sweet. I spent some time on one that a friend owns and it is a great ride. You can really take the time to enjoy the ride since you are not so focused on what is going on. With the Busa you must stay on your toes or you will be in trouble.

Sweet ride man.

Just keeping the Goot See topic alive .

The engine does seem massive . The older V11 LeMans had the alternator driven off the crank behind the wheel . The newer Griso , 1200 Sport ect has the alternator up between the cylinders . I think the alternator will be placed back on the crank and a C15 Rotrex unit should reside between the cylinders

Oh a blower would nestle right in there wouldn't it... Hmmm, maybe I could do with about 2lbs of boost... Mostly just have the blower whine mixed into the two cylinder orchestra.

Had a great ride home last night, took the long way. I'm still breaking her in, I've got all of about 60 miles on the clock and I am not certain just how sensitive the Moto Guzzi Twin is so while I am not breaking her in easy, I am being a little more gentle than normal. From what I have heard the engine will continue to improve in power and smoothness for the next 2k miles or so, interesting.

But yeah, even when compared with an H-D big twin the Guzzi Motor looks big. It's fun, definitely gives the impression of BIG power. But yeah, a small blower would be fun I suppose, though it would sorta be going the wrong direction for what I am after.

So yeah, I did get all the stickers off finally...
