Hell I'm surprised anyone had ever heard of the Griso at all. Nice to see I'm not the only fan.

I am a bit surprised that more of the true bike enthusiasts that own multiple bikes have not chimed in . These are not your fathers Guzzi's
ThumbsUp.gif

Prior to 2006 i would never have entertained a Guzzi or the Ducati , buying new that is but these days the quality seems on par with any bike make so for the hotrodder in me the Griso could not have come along at a better time . Twins are in

From 1955-1957 the Moto Guzzi Grand Prix team ran their dual over head cam , supercharged 500cc V-8 engine .

They set a record of 172mph down the straight of some race track . They stopped production in 1957 and it was 30 years before that mph was beat by another machine .

Is Lilah going to stick around or are you still thinking about selling her?
Lilah is For Sale...  Been 2 years pretty much going back and forth but I am simply not riding her much and when I do I am not really enjoying it.
dunno.gif
I'm still sentimental, I'll miss the rocket sled, but when I was searching for a new bike, I kept taking Lilah out and yeah I am just not enjoying it anymore.

The Griso really does remind me of why I started riding.  Fun, plain old fun.  Not the serious business go FAST fun but the fun of just going down the road smelling the air, enjoying the warm air/ cool air pockets, feeling the engine underneath ya.  It's really a much more enjoyable ride for me now.

Still wasn't ready for a Harley, they just didn't do anything for me, and if I want to ride somewhere 2-up I can always just get one from work.

So yeah, the Griso and it's might 89HP or whatever is just what I was looking for, fun.  The fact that it's got a booming exhaust and lots of fun bits on it doesn't hurt.

So yeah Lilah For sale with a ton of extras  $7500.
Wait . . .

Turning over couch looking for some loose change.

Gimmie a holla if it doesn't sell right off.

Nice new ride BTW.

There are a couple of YouTube videos featuring this V8 lapping a track. Talk about a Sound track.

Some of you may not know that Moto Guzzi is the second oldest continuously in production motorcycle Brand, right behind Old Faithful H-D, by about 20 years. They are 85 something years old.

Some More Pics just for grins.

Out front of the house...

Just a front 3/4

And the Gauges are pretty cool too. Multi function display, kind of nice little bit of high tech to offset the oldschool motor.

And another. The red looks freaking sweet at night though I need to dim it a bit... Once I figure out how.

The Wife just read this thread and asked if i have thought about buying a bike and leaving the engine stock for once in my life

Thanks for the pics .... by chance do you have a sound clip ?

Now this is too cool .

eaebc88e.jpg

No Sound clip of mine specifically, but there are two on You Tube that pretty much made the aftermarket pipe mandatory.

Of course you don't get the vibrating ground feel in the video or the bass, but the idea is there. The way the kickstand mounts to the bottom of the motor transfers a lot of vibration to the ground when it's just sitting there. It's pretty impressive, makes it "feel" really tough.

And this one of a Griso being ran up a bit... Not a Termignoni, but similar sound.

Finally, IGNORE THE AUDIO, but the flame show is fun.

Did you answer honestly?

It's odd, I love my vehicles, but other than some basic cosmetics and sound? I don't really do much else. The Griso will remain OEM though. No blowers or anything anyway.

Might do some intake, remove the Cat, and have it tuned, but otherwise just some cosmetics.

-Bar End mirrors, or something similar.
-some sort of small fairing
-fender eliminator
-Maybe some anodized bits
-New handlebars probably. Pro-Tapers CR bend Maybe or a Pastrana bend is supposed to be just the ticket.

But yeah other than cosmetics, I leave things alone.

That's rad...

Moto Guzzi reminds me a lot of Harley in this regard. 50 or so years ago they were the Bomb, cutting edge, pinnacle of performance. Now... They are just cool. But they still have that heritage which is neat.

Nice, Love the looks of that bike. Just wonder where it was shot at. Looks like SW U.S. but he's got his speedo reading KPH. Spain? But the cars didn't look right.

Regardless, nice bike, and sooo damn sexy.

She was joking when she said it . Was more of a statement than a question as she knows me well .She would like to see 1/2 my bike museum gone most likely

In all honesty  , I don't intend to supercharge a Griso . Defeats the whole purpose of the why's of it all and those things don't/won't/never will/ have alot of engine spares floating around Ebay should a OEM Cosworth manufactured piston and the likes of the crankcase go boom  plus the reported 55+ mpg sounds good where i live . I think your muffler would as well .
ThumbsUp.gif

The inability to " currently " even piggy back the Marelli Alpha N  puts a stop to even camming it for the time being as well so .....

I am just glad they even import the groovy Griso . Some day they might even reinvent the LeMan's. The ultra cool Moto Morini 87 degree short stroke V-Twin with 140hp that could whoop up on many a inline 4 through the twisties would sell well in the USA me thinks but people often overlook the other makes and models in this country and think if it ain't a Ninja or something associated with being derived from racing, it's not worth the bucks so we don't get all the cool offerings .

Short story over

laugh.gif

Yeah, Moto Morini makes some interesting looking bikes.

Seems as though you've put a lot of thought into tweaking Moto Guzzis already.
cool.gif

I'll tell you though that I never thought I'd find half the Busa's HP to be so much fun on the road. I'm really enjoying the motor and it's loosening up dramatically. Making more and more power just about every 40 miles or so, though it needs the tappets adjusted already, no worries though I need a feeler guage. Moto Guzzi makes it pretty easy at least. But the power that this engine does deliver arrives with an extra helping of character and that seems to make up for a lot.

Though I do miss the Busa's Godlike acceleration and ability to put me wherever, whenever I want.

So yeah, anyway I'm happy with it pretty much stock. I ordered a fender eliminator today, I'm looking at some Pro-Taper Pastrana bars in Gold, and some bar end mirrors. Should sit me up just a little more and improve the looks a bit. Eventually I'll probably ad a small fairing of some sort.
