Crazy race today!!!
Here is my take on MM.
1.) He outclassed anyone else on the track today, not by a margin but by a whole lot. The talent he showed today clearly indicates why he has won the world championships four times.
2.) He is a youngster with the personality of a top jet fighter pilot. That is just the way his brain works, it is winning at all costs, no matter the consequences. That is the reason he is so successful. I can understand why Rossi is upset, but I really don't believe Marc purposefully meant for any of the other riders to crash. He panicked at the beginning of the race and was desperate to try and get back to the front. He was totally reckless, but I don't think that was intentionally meant to harm anyone, it was just following his instincts, the way he is wired, the way a fighter pilot acts when he is in trouble.
3.) Again, I can understand why Rossi is upset, but perhaps a better way would have been to enter into a man to man discussion with Marc when he came over to apologize, rather than just chase him away and blasting comments into the press. In this instance I expected a bit more from Rossi. He is the old master, the one with the most experience, the one who has seen it all and done it all. If he was truly concerned about the status of MotoGP due to Marc's behavior I believe the best thing he could have done was to confront Marc man to man after the race to try and set things straight, when Marc came over to apologize. In short, an attempt from Rossi to change Marc's behavior would have added a lot more value than talking to the press behind Marc's back.
4.) Rossi remains my favorite, but I hope he gets over this. I hope Marc gets some coaching to realize that what he did today is not OK and between him and Rossi they repair the relationship. I hope Marc grows up and becomes a little more responsible, but that may cost him a race or two.
