My baby is dead

Buy it back from the insurance company Busa parts are gold sorry for your loss hope nobody got hurt. Don't know your deductible a real friend would at least cover that.

had the same prob with my brother in law , but not as much damages as yours. and since then i never let NO ONE  ride my baby unless they drop $15000 cash in front of me. sorry to hear about ur loss hopefully a few board members can help u out with the repairs
I do the same. When someone ask for a ride I tell to put $15000 cash in my hands cause if they drop it it's theirs.

Crap...sorry to here that...for a second there I thought you were talking about your child...scared me...I never let anyone ride my bike, not even my own brother (the stories I could tell ya)....anyhow, is your buddie o.k.? hope your back up and roll'in soon

bro that sucks man, hope your friend is ok. When someone asks to take my bike for a spin, I jokingly say "Give me cash for 10,000 and you take it as long as you like." If they dont get the point then I say sorry dude, the only way it goes out is you buy it. That pretty much ends the whole conversation. If you need anything for repairs let me know.

Man, sorry to hear about your bike. Like the others say I ask for 15,000 to ride and if you drop it its yours. I don't why everybody thinks they should be able to ride your bike, they don't ask to drive your car. Or do they?

The first thing that popped in my head was:

What's your buddy doing to make this right?

your friend,if he is a true friend will pay you back,if not beat the hell out of him and make him pay. as you can tell i am not a diplomat.

I let the Brother ride her, but he leaves his bike in my garage with the understanding that if he wrecks "My Baby" he fixes it and his bike is mine til I get her back...

$16k in damage is cheap for a busa parts wise.Insurance companies only want new parts on the bike, they someimes on hard parts offer a credit.I did an estimate on a 01 cbr 600f4i the other day came to $11,385.00

Cool thing about it is he is at least giving me enough to put me back where i was even after starting over. I know to do it yourself is a fraction of what a shop charges. The estimate that the shop gave me was $16,395.62. $13,951.71 parts-$1,356.60 labor-$1,067.31 tax

you should be carefull with topic titles.... you scared me...
I bet you don`t have a children, do ya?...
Sorry about the bike, you can get a new one, 2007 model...:)
I didn't read the post the first 5 times I saw it listed because I was dreading the news. Still VERY bad bro, and I am sorry for your loss but really glad your loss was not a child.

Sorry for your loss. I'm very selective on who would ride my busa. Thus far only two people have ridden mine. My son,GSXTacy, who has the twin to mine, and fstbusa, who let me jam on his turbo busa up in Iowa this summer. If you don't ride a busa, you aint riddin mine!

Two people have ridden mine. One is a friend who could drop the price of a new Busa and never miss it, who has let me ride his stuff. He rode it once.

My younger brother was the other rider. He rode it once.

Other than that, I agree with Don't offer, Don't ask (I never do)
