My Busa went down yesterday!

soory to hear about your spill but i'm glad you are ok :beerchug:

Glad that the scrapes are on the bike and not you. Hate to say it but, better the Busa than the rider ... it's much harder to find replacement parts for a rider, no matter what year make or model.

Bad luck, good to know you are OK.

Tell me a bit more about your spill? When you hit the gravel in the turn, did it catch you by surprize, or did the bike break away completely, or did you get into a slide and could not control it?

dont feel bad i did the same thing to my busa damaged the exact same parts but i also broke my brake lever 2 weeks after i bought it. the wifey dished out $875 for new parts with my suzuki dealer costs plus shipping.

Was on a ride yesterday and lost traction on some gravel making a right turn. It was a very low speed spill and frame sliders may have minimized the damage, gladly the bike is still rideable and I escaped without a scratch!!

Glad you are okay  , the bike will fix.

Were you braking or accelerating? Front brake? Rear brake?
Front end wash out or did the rear get loose?

glad your ok.
They do fix up ok. A local shop did some scrapes on my rt fairing a couple of years ago. Still looks great and cost a lot less than replacing it.
be thankful you can type the posting.
Blessings.......

sorry to hear of your fall.

If you decide to repair out of pocket I have a stock windscreen you can have for shipping.

When I went down in 06, I went ahead and just bought my stuff to repair...except NinjaKiller supplied some exhaust parts. Did not want to give insurance any reason to mess with my rates.

Glad you are ok.

Thank you for the offer, I actually have my stock windscreen and have already reinstalled it.

I was in second gear and had slowed to make the turn, I was already into the turn when the rear wheel lost traction. My mistake was I grabbed the front brake and the wheel locked up. It seemed to happen so fast I was probally only going a little over 5mph. The bike went down and then slid a little on the gravel. I was told quite a few bikes have gone down or have almost gone down making the same turn! The area gets worse from the rain.

Thanks everyone for the support and kind words! You are all correct it is better the bike got damaged than me, I can still hop on her tomorrow and go for a Sunday ride! Some riders that have similar mishaps are'nt so fortunate!:beerchug:

Thanks for sharing your story, it may help someone avoid the same ordeal.

Dang that sucks but at least your ok, sorry about your bike and glad it wasent worse :beerchug:

I hear ya, I'm trying to decide if I should go through my insurance or wait awhile and buy the peices myself. I keep getting mixed opinions!

Go on the internet and look at insurance. One of the questions will be have you had an accident in the past five years. Click yes, and look at the results. It will help you decide.

Glad you and the bike are alright. Cosmetic damage is the best you can hope for in an off.

No way big blue!!!! Its bad enough to hear of ANY busa rider going down but to read about a friend on the web going down kinda stops the heart. Fix her up soon because we still need to ride up to Reno for the Busa Stampede.

Don't forget about Midnight mayhem on March 6.
