My Busa went down yesterday!

DONT even mention it to your insurance guy!! Thats my advise.Just get the parts yourself and replace them. Its easy! I just did that about ayear ago.But I also broke 3 toes and cracked my shoulder blade.Off work for 6 weeks.
And i was going really really slow.It just that the road was "half wet" amd my back wheel slipped on as i was downshifting.and then when it hit dry pavement it really hoooked and whipped me off like a horse!!!!
Anyways, glad to hear that you are ok!
Continue to continue.

I hear ya, I'm trying to decide if I should go through my insurance or wait awhile and buy the peices myself. I keep getting mixed opinions!

You have to weigh out what it would really cost either way. Will ins. go up? Can you get the part's cheap? Do you know a painter? Can you do the work yourself? Go through the total cost and see what way will be most cost effective for you and not scar your ins. By the way, glad to hear your OK.

glad your ok. lucky its only cosmetics. I got a windscreen if you need it. just pay for shipping. pm me.

happend to me in 2007 about 17 days after I had a custome paint job done, only I was rear ended by another bike...moron...lol...my heart still aches

sorry to hear of your fall.

If you decide to repair out of pocket I have a stock windscreen you can have for shipping.

When I went down in 06, I went ahead and just bought my stuff to repair...except NinjaKiller supplied some exhaust parts. Did not want to give insurance any reason to mess with my rates.

Glad you are ok.

I have state farm and they dont raise your rates at all. its considered a recreational vehicle and rates dont go up on recreational vehicles ie...boats, bikes, trailers, ect.... My claim was around 7k and rate didnt go up .01

Just food for thought.

Glad your okay though. It's a sickening feeling, huh?

Don't want to threadjack but want to ask a ? as I am new to insurance and claims and effects on rates etc.

What do you guys all have your deductible set to? 250/500/1000? Because if a claim effects your rates so detrimentally I was curious if you just set your deductible high to save yourself some cash since you might not make a claim for lesser damage anyways. I was thinking about doing a 250 or 500 ded. on comprehensive, then 1000 on colliision, because I figure collision damange will usually be very expensive, but comprehensive may not be, depending of course on circumstances.

Thanks guys.

Sorry to see your bike's beat up, best of luck to getting it back to the way you like it, glad your safe.

It always happes at a low speed. At a high speed the bike would just have shaken it off.

A while ago I drove over an empthy water bottle whilst braking for a robot and went right down
Could not believe it but yea will be more carefull next time???
Regards

Ouch! That sucks bro! The main thing is that you're OK!!! I feel your pain, hit a patch of sand in the mountains on my 07 GSX-R1000 last September. Talked State farm into totaling it and got a more than agreeable settlement from them. No premium increase either, just like 99'busa stated.
Get her fixed up ASAP, the riding season is comin' on!

I have full coverage with State Farm so if the no rate increase statements are true, this may be my best option. I think my deductible is $500 and obviously the damage exceeds that amount.

call them. they arent going to raise your rate on ANYTHING just for calling. My agent said they MOST my rates would go up is 10% but since its a bike it didnt change at all.

glad to hear you're all right. last thing i wanna hear is another rider down with injuries. Remember, Neccesity of Repair is the gateway to Modification.

Happy that you are fine, what kind of sliders are that? What happened to them?Mind showing pics of them curious???
