Hello everyone. I've been lurking here reading and getting a feel for the good company here. I live just outside of Tampa, FL and just turned 50 years old. I finally got my dream busa three weeks ago as a birthday present to myself.

I had a new 2002 1200s bandit up until November 03. In the two years I onwned that bike I put 20k hard miles on it and then had a bad accident. I was unlucky enough to get run over by a tractor trailer who made an unexpected left turn while I was in the passing lane. Bike was totalled and I spent the next four months in a wheelchair and on crutches.

At first after the accident I said no more bikes after riding on an off for nearly thirty years. But you all know what its like to have riding in your blood. At the time I owned the bandit I was upside down and could not afford to trade up the the busa. The first time I saw the 03 black/silver busa it was love at first site. Well here I am a year and a half later and now I own my dream machine. My local dealer had a 03 with 1,600 miles on consignment. I bought the bike out the door for $9,100.00 which I thought was a good deal. The bike was flawless and black/silver. I resisted the temptation for months but finally caved in. My name was written all over that bike.

I've put about a 1,000 miles on it over the past three weeks and so far I love everything about it except for the seat. That will be my very first mod to the bike. I can see from the posting here there is a lot of vaulable knowledge to gain from. Thank you all for sharing and hopefully our paths will cross one day!

Welcome to the board! I know that "bikes in the blood" feeling all too well. I'm glad you're all healed up and enjoying that new Busa.

Welcome Oldroller!

There are a few of us in the Tampa area that ride together.
Just watch out for the Red Power Ranger... he goes by the alias "Diesel"

I too live in the Z-Hills area... we've got some great roads in the area.

Often you can find me at the Hess station in Spring Lake weekend mornings. I've already met a couple of busa riders there. I'm sure we will eventually meet one day. Looking forward to it.

Is that the Hess on SR50 by Croom?

We usually end up there on Sunday mornings.

Might be there this week... look for the loud Red Busa held together with zip-ties

OldRoller,
Welcome! Pics!!!! As was already mentioned, Tobin, Corbin, Gel; there are several possibilities for more comfortable seats...you won't find too many things that can be done to a busa that aren't discussed here - lots of knowledge and lots of love!
Oh, and PICS!!!

If you've been lurking here any length of time, you know the rules: Post pic!
