My review after 950 miles on my first busa

What will that do? The bike starts to lose power at 10.5k rpm

This will allow you to experience the full grace/fury of this beast. Peak HP/TQ are both above the 8K mark. And if 6K is where you let off the throttle you not experience 1/4 of what the bike will/can do. And if you have rode on just the back wheel on dirt bikes someone with your learning curve will figure out real quick a 550-600lb machine will feel completely different on just one wheel.

Bumping the Rev limiter will allow you to feel what the bike will do at 150 MPH (this is in 5th gear).

If you haven't Redlined the bike you are in for a very SERIOUS awakening.

Don't worry about blowing the motor (this is what the Rev limiter is for).

lol i bump the rev limiter in first girl once and thats when i hit the airshifter into second. I found it works out really good because it gives the tire a moment to catch up and stop spinning before i blow it off in second gear lol. i can't wait to get more gear in my bike too!

i rode a stock wheel base gen 1 the other day and didn't have problems keeping the wheel on the ground going w.o.t. granted, it had a strap on it though. Clutch control mates.

when you can go to the drag strip and run a high 8 or low 9 in the 1/4 on your bike, then you are sufficiently qualified to go nos or turbo...i bet you dont do better then a 12 on your first pass

I never NEVER thought I would say this... but I have already gotten used to the power... This is my first Jap bike, a 2009 hayabusa, with full Yoshi R-77 and power commander....and I already want more.... I mean really?!?!? Don't get me wrong, I still haven't given her full throttle in first gear because the bike refuses to stay down and not wheelie, but I fly through the rest of the gears no problem... time to go turbo?

One other thing, I know a lot of you do clutchless shifting....how do you do that without damaging the motor??

I think you should have gotten a moped instead.

Scary getting behing the wheel of a dragster that does 6 seconds in the 1/4 mile

But 6 second dragsters have fire suppression systems, 2 parachutes, 5 point SFI harnesses, SFI driver arm restraints and chromoly rollcages. Your Busa doesn't. Your Busa has the potential to be MUCH scarier.

I agree with the others that recommend taking the bike to a drag strip or a track day. Getting lapped by guys on 600cc machines can be quite humbling.;)

Not trying to be a spoil sport -

But how old are you and how many bikes have you owned that would even come close to the power of the Busa?

How many years of experience on motorcycles with your Motorcycle endorsement?

Please be careful.

You are right Bro it takes years to be able to fully harness the power of a bike like the Hayabusa . Sport bikes are a lot like Karate. You have to start at the bottom and learn the basics through years of pratice to make it to the top ranking or you will get chewed up and spit out.

i find it hard to beleive that u want more out of ur hayabusa after only 900 miles??? and if u riding motocross i find it equally hard to beleive tha u dont know ur sprockets as it was the first thing i learned in motocross to change them to suit ur riding...

I learned differently, I adjusted to how the bike came in stock form. With the enormous power band that the 450 had throughout all rpms there was no need to change the sprockets.

I ran open class for quite a few years....different track different sprocket...to be any where near competitive allot of things need to happen. I'm a late arrival to sport bikes and I can tell you a guy on a 600 with track time will wax your a$$ in the twisties, Like wise in a straight line if you cant control the power a guy with track time on an "inferior" machine will wax your but too. I have been to a half dozen or so track days now (not on the busa) and can tell you, you will learn more in a day there than years on the street can teach you. I, like you fell into the ego trap, have a bigger bike, more performance mods.....and go knowhere fast , lol. I finally got the importance of skill when i crossed over to sport bikes and had kids destroy me in the corners. I suspect you know your skill level and its hard to admit that you may suck, it was for me. Set yourself free.....admit you dont know everything, youll be surprised what a little humility will do at the track, people will come out of the woodwork to help....cocky your on your own. have tons-o-fun.....after all thats what this is all about.

Did I ever say I was a track guru around the twisties? I never said that, not once. So I have no idea why you are assuming that. I very well know I will lose around the corners. I simply talked about wanting better straightline performance and you come talking about twisties! Why? Lol. Trust I will take the busa to the track and will get beat by everybody, why? Because they have track time and I do not. I never stated I was great, or even good around corners. I have never even tried to drop a knee yet on this bike. When I try a track day I will experiment around the corners... But that is not why I bought this bike. If I wanted to go all out I would have bought a 1000cc bike and taken that to the track... But 600 and 1k bikes are not nearly as comfortable for daily use as a busa.

talked about twisties and drags...if you can read. But go ahead do as you wish and watch the old guys on kz's walk all over your ass....post pics so i can laugh....my wheel goes sky high at 6k, lol and you need more power, give me a break....probably run a 14 with a turbo, but your the expert.

I take it you still have not bumped the Rev limiter.

I am wandering if anybody is as good as you think you are?

Me - I want more power

You all - ZOMG He thinks he is the best rider ever!! What is his problem, the stock power is enough!! He is young, that explains his arrogance. He is so cocky, he is bound to wreck and kill himself!! Just wait till he goes around the twisties and gets raped by lower cc bikes!

Seriously wtf?
